A law firm seeks an experienced Tax & Benefits Attorney based in Seattle, WA, to advise on complex business matters, including mergers, reorganizations, acquisitions, and other financial transactions. This role entails providing specialized legal support to develop, implement, and manage employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) and other employee benefit plans governed by ERISA.Duties
Lead and advise on corporate transactions, such as mergers, reorganizations, and acquisitions.Oversee the structuring and administration of employee benefits plans, including ESOPs and ERISA-compliant plans.Collaborate with clients and legal teams on large-scale projects and ensure compliance with legal requirements.Utilize strategic thinking to provide sound legal guidance that aligns with the client's business goals.Build and maintain client relationships through exceptional service.Engage in pro bono and public service work, supporting causes and clients that reflect firm values.Requirements
Experience:
10+ years in corporate or transactional law, focusing on major deals and acquisitions.Skills:
Strong business acumen and strategic thinking; adept in complex project coordination.Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent judgment, discretion, tact, and communication.Additional Experience:
ESOP experience, LL.M. in Tax, and a partial portable book of business are advantageous but not mandatory.Education
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications
Active license to practice law.Skills
Expertise in corporate tax law and employee benefits regulations.Proficiency with ERISA and other compliance standards for benefits plans.Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple projects effectively.Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
