A law firm seeks an accomplished Tax & Benefits Attorney to manage complex business matters, including mergers, reorganizations, acquisitions, and financial transactions. This role includes providing legal services to support the creation, implementation, and oversight of employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) and other benefits plans governed by ERISA.
Duties
Oversee corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations. Advise on structuring and administering employee benefits plans, including ESOPs and other ERISA-governed plans. Collaborate with clients and internal teams to coordinate multifaceted projects. Offer strategic legal advice to support business goals and compliance requirements. Engage in business development and build client relationships. Participate in pro bono work and public service initiatives. Requirements
Experience:
10+ years as a corporate or transactional attorney, with experience in high-profile deals and acquisitions. Skills:
Strong analytical and organizational skills; strategic business judgment. Collaboration:
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary client service team. Professionalism:
High level of discretion, tact, and strong communication abilities. Additional Experience:
Background in ESOPs is a plus; Tax LL.M. and a portable book of business are beneficial but not required. Education
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications
Active license to practice law. Skills
Expertise in tax law related to corporate transactions and employee benefits. Proficiency with ERISA regulations and benefits plan compliance. Strong organizational and project management skills.
