Global Design and Construction Services Senior Category ManagerJob Summary

As the Global Design and Construction Services Category Senior Manager at Equinix, you will lead a strategic procurement team responsible for the global sourcing and category management of design and construction services. This role involves collaborating with regional stakeholders across APAC, AMER, and EMEA to drive procurement strategies that optimize cost, efficiency, and service quality for Equinix's rapidly growing global data center portfolio. Your leadership will be critical in ensuring that Equinix remains at the forefront of innovation in the design and construction of its facilities while meeting business objectives.

Responsibilities

Global Category Management: Lead the global category management strategy for design and construction services, including developing, implementing, and maintaining category plans that align with business objectives.

Project Execution: Conduct bidding and contract negotiation with strategic suppliers at project level to ensure project cost, quality, and process are optimized adherence to category strategy.

Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of 3 Regional GDC Services Category Managers, ensuring that regional strategies are aligned with the global strategy and that best practices are shared across regions.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key internal stakeholders, including project managers, design teams, and finance, to understand requirements, provide procurement expertise, and ensure alignment on project goals.

Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring performance meets or exceeds contractual obligations and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with the procurement of design and construction services, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Cost Optimization: Drive cost reduction initiatives and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers while maintaining quality and service levels.

Process Improvement: Continuously improve procurement processes and systems to enhance efficiency, transparency, and value delivery.

Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of market trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in the design and construction industry, leveraging this knowledge to inform category strategies.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a senior category management role, preferably within the design and construction services sector managing construction consultancy such as Architecture Engineering, Commissioning, and Construction Project Management services.

Leadership: Proven experience managing a global team and driving cross-functional collaboration in a matrixed environment.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.

Skills: Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and project management skills. Ability to influence and build consensus among stakeholders at all levels.

Knowledge: Deep understanding of global design and construction markets, supplier management, and contract negotiation.

Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required (2-3X a year).
