We embrace diversity in thought and contribution and are committed to providing an equitable work environment that is foundational to our core values as a company and is vital to our success.Position: xScale, Major Capital Equipment Procurement DirectorSummary:The xScale MCE Program Director is responsible for programmatic ownership and execution for Major Capital Equipment required for new hyperscale data center delivery in the Americas (North America & LATAM). Will be required to build a team to directly manage and execute all Major Capital Equipment for Equinix hyperscale data center program. Participate in the development of the business strategy while impacting business direction through the development of innovative strategies or services. Accountable for building, creating and managing the procurement execution strategy for MCE equipment for hyperscale data center deployments. Key partner with internal stakeholders including design, engineering, construction management, PMO, commercial and adjacent MCE teams. Responsible for proactive communications to leadership regarding strategy, planning, performance and collaborating closely regarding SWOT areas.Responsibilities:People Management

Oversees a team within the America's region (NAM)Manages regional initiatives & OKRsIs accountable for the performance and results of direct reportsIs responsible for:The performance management of team membersTalent development, including quarterly conversations, career conversations and individual development/growth plansModeling Equinix Culture and Values

Business Partnering

Engages and collaborates with business teams for regional procurement and governanceIs an escalation point to resolve stakeholder issues within the regional teamEducates the business on procurement processes and governanceRecommends enhancements to the Source to Pay process and systems

Resource Management (people, finances etc.)

Will provide management updates on supplier performance and team productivityIs an escalation point for the team for solving resource/budgetary issuesContributes and/or is responsible for resource planning (people, finances etc.) activities

Negotiations

Partners intra-regionally with business leaders, and other key stakeholders to execute capital and operational purchases that deliver cost savings, reduce supplier lead times, and improve vendor performanceEnsures appropriate supply agreements are in place and guides internal teams how to monitor adherence to the terms of the agreementAligns with internal customers regarding best negotiation positions and provides stakeholders with a balanced view of contract risk and liabilitiesDirectly engages suppliers at the appropriate levels to influence the best outcome for Equinix that exceeds the business requirements

Procurement Strategy

Utilizes a global perspective in the execution of procurement strategy within the regionDevelops a vendor management strategy to "right size" the supply strategy for the regionDevelops, communicates and executes against global procurement strategies and best practices for the regionEstablishes and delivers procurement goals, metrics, and work plans to meet operational objectivesContributes to spend category management strategies and action plansMonitors and maintains full industry and market knowledge of equipment, suppliers, best practices, competitive landscape, etc.Communicates and collaborates with all key stakeholders to ensure alignment of the overall strategyLeads the regional procurement teams to implement procurement strategy effectively throughout the region across the relevant categories

Cost Savings

Drives and delivers cost savings opportunities aligned with organizational commitmentsDevelops cost savings proposals and interacts closely with suppliers, and internal customers, to achieve the cost savingsCreates and maintains cost forecasts (reduction or increase) and cost-tracking for the region

Supplier Management

Leads the end-to-end supplier management processBuilds and maintains supplier relationships and drives improvement in the areas of cost, risk, and qualityIdentifies and mitigates supplier risks in the areas of financial, capacity, location, single sole source, spend, and revenue, etc.Educates suppliers on the mechanics of doing business with EquinixIdentifies and resolves various supplier management problemsSupports selection of new suppliersActs as point of escalation for suppliers when needed

Contract Management

Responsible for all relevant documentation execution including contract SOW, and supplier certification including insurance & RFP documentsPartners with Legal on the contract lifecycleWorks with business partners to develop and agree SOW, business and commercial requirementsNegotiates contract details with suppliersManages business requirements for Order ManagementInitiates supplier creation where applicable in the Source to Pay systems
