to best support young people aged 10-18.An exciting new opportunity has arisen to support the safeSPACE program at our Gosnells centre as a Youth Engagement Officer. The Youth Engagement Officer (YEO) role is responsible for supporting the delivery of strong youth work support for at risk and vulnerable young people referred into PCYC programs, whilst working to the corporate goal of improving communities through effective youth development.The YEO will support PCYC staff to facilitate all aspects associated with service delivery. A tertiary qualification in Youth/Community work (Diploma or above is desirable) or related area such as social work, psychology, behavioural science and/or equivalent experience.An understanding of developing, delivering and evaluating youth programsAbility to communicate effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds, including their families.Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander young people and have a good understanding of the issues facing First Nations peopleAbility to apply appropriate behaviour management strategiesPassionate about re-engaging young people through building positive professional relationships and utilising a strengths-based, person-centred, trauma-aware, solutions-focused approachAbility to work with young people experiencing a wide range of issues including but not limited to AOD, behavioural, mental health and assist in identifying appropriate referral pathways.An understanding of youth work code of ethicsPossess or willing to obtain National Police Clearance, Working with Children and drivers licenceHow to Apply:
