The KinderCare Accounting team is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to help ensure accurate processing and recording of company payroll. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
Our mission is to pay employees accurately and on time every time, while keeping our costs controlled and aligning with all regulatory requirements. We are looking for an upbeat, enthusiastic, exceptional people person with outstanding analytical, project and leadership skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate Workday technology and reconcile weekly and bi-weekly multi-state payroll for KinderCare employees.
Ensure timely processing of payroll under the guidance of the Payroll Analyst II and Payroll Operations Manager.
Maintain organized payroll records and document processing steps.
Review and complete off-cycle payrolls as initiated by the Payroll Specialist.
Validate all payroll calculations for weekly and bi-weekly runs after Payroll Analyst II processing.
Process and analyze payroll data inputs from various internal and external sources.
Load and validate EIBs from Payroll Specialists and other workstreams.
Assist with audits, including worker’s comp, tax filings, and related documentation as needed.
Coordinate with ADP to handle garnishments and tax notices.
Address employee payroll inquiries promptly and authoritatively.
Collaborate with HR to accurate data entry errors in Workday.
Run and schedule Workday reports as requested.
Assist with payroll configuration testing and provide additional support payroll team as needed.
Qualifications:5+ years of payroll processing experience, with a focus on medium to large-scale, multi-state, multi-unit organizations.
In-depth knowledge of multi-state garnishment laws and expertise in interpreting, entering, and handling withholding orders (e.g., garnishments, child support, student loans, federal and state tax levies).
Proficient in Workday Payroll Processing or similar payroll systems.
Proven understanding of payroll standard processes.
Strong PC skills, with proficiency in Excel and/or Smart-sheets.
Confirmed leadership abilities with a track record of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
