Job OverviewA respected law firm is seeking a qualified eDiscovery Counsel to provide strategic expertise in managing eDiscovery processes for complex litigation and investigative matters. This role involves collaborating with client teams to guide eDiscovery and Information Governance challenges, drafting and reviewing key legal documentation, and supporting clients in various legal proceedings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of skill in legal research, possess strong communication abilities, and excel in handling multiple client workstreams with professionalism.Duties
Advise client teams on eDiscovery and Information Governance matters, including drafting legal memoranda, protective orders, ESI agreements, and other pertinent documentation.Draft talking points and outlines for client discussions, custodian interviews, meet-and-confer sessions, and motion hearings.Collaborate with clients, merit firms, and co-counsels to efficiently manage workstreams.Coordinate with experts, including task management, matter oversight, and preparation for oral testimonies.Engage in industry-relevant organizations and groups to identify and support thought leadership initiatives.Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting the business.Lead client engagements and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.Coach and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.Meet required billable hour expectations, maintain accurate time records, and ensure timely time entry.Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of law firm experience, specifically in managing eDiscovery for complex litigation and investigation cases.Active membership with the Bar in at least one of the following jurisdictions: California, Illinois, Minnesota, Virginia, or Washington, D.C.Education
Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) degree.Skills
Strong judgment and decision-making abilities under pressure.Demonstrated leadership in eDiscovery, information governance, or related legal practices.Proficient in client management, project planning, and leadership.Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple client engagements.High level of written and oral communication skills, including presentation expertise.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.In-depth knowledge of eDiscovery, information governance, and data privacy principles.Proficient in Microsoft Office and adept with relevant legal technologies.Job Location
