Job Responsibilities

The South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities is seeking a hardworking and dependable candidate just like you to apply! Under the general supervision of the Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director of Admissions is responsible for implementing and evaluating admissions and recruitment initiatives for the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities. The job duties of this position include but are not limited to the following:
Coordinates prospective student experiences, including recruitment presentations, campus tours, shadowing, and weekend events. Ensures successful pre-event planning, event execution, and post-event evaluation and feedback.Supervises off-campus recruitment activities, including school visits, community presentations, etc. Manages all admissions counselors, including scheduling, travel, territory assignments, and evaluations.Develops, manages, and maintains databases for applicant tracking and recruitment purposes.Collaborates with the Director of Admissions in developing the online application process, ensuring that the instructions, messages, and reminders sent through the application portal are clear. Creates instructional documents for internal stakeholders and applicants.Assists with application processing along with all Admissions team members. Provides constituents/stakeholder services internally (other SCGSAH offices, administration, current students/parents) and externally (prospective students, parents, educators, and other engaged parties). Works with stakeholders to anticipate and resolve concerns.Develops strategies to attract and enroll a well-qualified, diverse enrollment for the SCGSAH along with all Admissions team members.Supports the execution of in-person, virtual, and asynchronous auditions with support from the Admissions Team. Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of admissions or student recruitment program experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (G Suite).Knowledge of basic principles and theories of admissions practices and educational administration. Knowledge of laws, policies, and procedures affecting enrollment and retention.Excellent written and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders.Occasional travel is required. Occasional evenings and weekends are required to support departmental and schoolwide events and activities.Must have a valid driver's license.Applicants indicating college credit or degree(s) on the application will be required to bring a copy of college transcript to the interview. A copy of the transcript may also be uploaded as an attachment to the application, if required by the hiring department or if desired by the applicant. Please note that some areas of the Agency may require an official, certified copy of the transcript prior to hiring or within a specific timeframe required by that area, after hiring.
