Evonik's Water Solutions and Growth Peroxide segment is your opportunity to leverage your technical, project management and service skills to expand our existing business in the northeast. You will work closely with our existing channel partner in the region to strengthen their understanding of the use of PAA and H2O2 in the water treatment market and develop opportunities together in order for them to gain a foothold in the region You'll begin with a small account base, which you'll maintain and expand, and develop and work on a sales plan/strategy to earn new business. This is a remote role that requires someone with independent drive and self-motivation.
$89,100-161,600 per year (salary to be determined by geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data)."
ResponsibilitiesIdentify, evaluate, and close new opportunities, assess customer needs and present Evonik solutions.Ensures customer service commitment is met through regular visits, phone calls, and troubleshootingWorks with segment manager, company, and external resources to ensure product line sales and profitability objectives are met.Manages and develops in-depth knowledge about customer history, organization relationships, competitive issues, potential opportunities, etc. and transfers this knowledge to the organization for use in business maintenance and growth.Practices and promotes the safe work practices in support of our worldwide policy on health, safety, security and the environment.Works closely with the field service technician and technical services team to troubleshooting operational difficulties, fields mechanical questions, organize and support field trials and startup at customer sites.Maintains an updated understanding of EPA & DEP regulations as they pertain to Evonik products and applications to provide customer training and education to support customer use of products and/or development of new products, builds relationships and communicates regularly with R&D and technical organizations to optimize value to customer.Develops a working knowledge of advantages and disadvantages of competitive chemistries and technologies that impact Evonik objectives.Assemble call reports that provide useful information and are submitted within agreed timeframes, enable management and other relevant functions and employees to understand markets, problems, needs, and competitive developments in order to effectively support customer needs and plan strategies and objectives as well as disseminate information to customers or internally to Evonik in a way that effectively meets the specific needQualifications
A minimum of 3 years field sales experienceWater treatment experience or chemical experience is requiredProven track record of good customer relationships and understanding of account needsDemonstrated ability to write and present clear, organized and informative business communications and presentationsStrong interpersonal skillsFull compliance with EHS and regulatory initiativesRequires overnight travel - estimated at 50%Requires some non-traditional work hours when troubleshooting and at trials and startups. (2nd and 3rd shifts)Experience in using CRM tools for contract tracking and customer management
