Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, has an opportunity for a Field Support Technician - Detection & Contorls position. Fike is a privately held business located in Blue Springs, MO with over 400 employees locally & over 1,200 employees worldwide.

Job Summary:

Provides highly skilled technical support for the installation, setup, testing, operator training, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Fike Video Analytics equipment. The Field Technician position is responsible for hands-on and on-site tasks involving deploying computer hardware, networked servers and various models of IP CCTV cameras. Delivers onsite service and support for installation, IP camera and video management software configuration, and maintenance services, including planning, processing, and organizing these activities. Supports field support projects, working in diverse conditions ranging from -50°F to +120°F, and environments from coal dust to sterile pharmaceutical settings to marine engine rooms. The role demands initiative and independent judgment in system installation and operation. Prepares detailed reports on performed work and any identified deficiencies. Classroom and onsite training will be provided. Requires up to 80% travel, both domestic and international.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provides prompt, courteous technical support, achieving customer satisfaction through helpfulness and creativity.Responsible for system installation oversight, integration consultation, and programming, as well as onsite or remote system setup, testing, and training.Must understand applications and respond appropriately to make recommendations to customers relative to effective use of Fike equipment. Fike will provide factory training and mentoring on the systems.Expected to multitask with many projects relating to Fike supplied equipment.Participates in start-up setup, testing and training, or job site problem analysis and serves as consultant in difficult or unusual situations.Pulls together all facts and documentation for site issues and communicates to appropriate personnel.Travels to various facilities as required validating readiness and the installation of Fike systems.Performs emergency and routine service and troubleshoots problem sites. Services include, but are not limited to, product installation supervision, network setup, IP camera configuration, and site system monitoring.Ensures performance to the scope of work and site design documentation.Complies with Fike expense policy and provides weekly reports for customer billing and expense reimbursement.Participates in emergency/after-hours product support coverage to meet customer schedules.Assists the repair department with analysis and diagnosis of returned products.Assists supervisor in defining goals, accessing problems, and offering solutions.Applies knowledge of Fike systems and applications to assist in problem solving to both internal and external customers. Documents issues and findings and communicates effectively to required groups.Ensures resources comply with all customer safety requirementsProvides customer service in accordance with company policies, procedures and ISO-9001 requirements.Escorts Fike customers on tours of Fike facilities when required.Maintains the confidentiality of all information processed.

Performs related duties as assigned. Regular and consistent attendance is required.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, hear, see, sit and, use hands. Must be able to lift more than 75 pounds without the aid of equipment, climb ladders, and work in difficult situations such as elevated heights, off of man lifts, scaffolding, tight spaces, and ever changing environments. Must be able to travel for consecutive days.

Job Qualifications:

Required:

Associates degree in electrical engineering technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience in computer, video management systems, network video recorder and/or IP camera networking. Solid verbal and written communication skills needed to accurately describe problems and communicate with customers. Valid driver's license. Must be able lift a minimum 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in difficult situations such as off of man lifts, scaffolding, tight spaces and ever changing environments. Must be able to travel and obtain a Passport. Proficiency of Windows, Word and Excel. Knowledge of NFPA standards and other related code requirements.

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced understanding of NFPA standards and other related code requirements. Experience and/or education in networked camera systems, video management systems and managing IP networks. Bi or multi-lingual.

Compensation:The base rate for this positionstarts at $24.00 per hour and goes up depending on experience and qualifications. This position is eligible for incentive pay.Working at Fike
