SUMMARY
Prepare formal reports on designated Marine Corps operations and exercises based on an analysis of lessons learned materials including transcriptions of formal interviews of senior Marine Corps personnel, formal after-action reports (AAR), planning documents, orders, directives, doctrinal publications, unit standard operational procedures (SOP), etc. Review formal AARs to identify both positive and negative trends and make recommendations for changes to Doctrine, Organization, Training, Material, Leadership and education, Personnel, and Facilities (DOTMLPF).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop draft, edit, and review Marine Corps lessons learned reports and other analytical products that contribute to DOTMLPF analysis and provide the rigor necessary to support the recommendations made in the report with actionable, informative, and relevant recommendations.
Provide Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) analysis support to include development, production, editing, staffing, and review of synthesized lessons learned reports principally derived from lessons learned collection efforts and trend analysis for the lessons learned topics identified in the annual Marine Corps lessons learned campaign plan.
Assist in the annual Marine Corps Center for Lessons Learned (MCCLL) lessons learned collection campaign plan development and execution process. The Senior Analyst for each element of the MAGTF (CE, GCE, ACE, LCE) leads their respective working group during the annual campaign plan working group and develops recommendations for suitable collection topics.
Assist the collection team with the development of the collection proposal and collection plan.
Analyze and review the materials collected.
Participate in lessons learned collection team training.
Provide peer review of other MAGTF element Senior Analysts products ensuring quality control of collection reports for consistency, readability, and analytical rigor.
Employ derivative classification as necessary, in accordance with Executive Order 13525, DoD M-5200.01, DECNAV M-551-.36 and appropriate Geographical Combatant Commanders Security Classification Guides, for developed analytical products and conduct derivative classification reviews of products and final interview transcripts.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in related field, Masters’ degree desired.
Graduate Marine Corps Command and Staff College desired.
Comprehensive knowledge of the Marine Corps, its missions, force structure, tactics, techniques, procedures, doctrine, and Marine Corps Military systems, with expert knowledge of the operations and functions of the MAGTF.
Desired experience requirement for management analyst contractor personnel specific to designated commands is as follows:
Command Element (CE) Senior Analyst. Senior level experience on a MEF or higher staff with ground combat arms, aviation, or combat service support occupational specialty.
Ground Combat Element (GCE) Senior Analyst. Senior level experience on a Marine Division staff with Combat arms (Infantry, Armor, Artillery, Engineering, etc.) occupational specialty.
Aviation Combat Element (ACE) Senior Analyst. Senior level experience on a Marine Aviation Wing staff with Naval Aviator, Naval Flight Officer, Unmanned Aircraft Officer, or Aviation C2 occupational specialty.
Logistics Combat Element (LCE) Senior Analyst. Senior level experience on a Marine Logistics Group (MLG) staff with Combat Service Support occupational specialty.
Experience with MCCLL SharePoint or MCLLP is desirable.
Must have an intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
Must obtain and maintain a valid secret security clearance.
Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks (U.S. citizenship required).

Demonstrated understanding of the conduct of military operations (tactics, techniques, technologies, and procedures).
Demonstrated experience in military operational planning.
Demonstrated understanding of the warfighting functions: Command and Control; Maneuver; fires; Intelligence; Logistics; Force Protection; and Information.
Demonstrated understanding of the DOTMLPF-P (Doctrine; Organization; Training; Material; Leadership and education; Personnel; Facilities; and Policy) analysis.
Able to interact and effectively communicate with Marine Corps senior uniformed officers and senior executives.
Excellent oral and written communications skills; writing ability commensurate with article submission to military publications; demonstrated expertise in military presentation.
Demonstrated ability to perform diverse duties under operating and deadline constraints.
Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality.
WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.
TRAVEL
Travel to other government facilities or other contractor facilities shall be required. Travel shall be required on weekends and shall include CONUS and OCONUS locations. The exact dates and duration of travel will vary dependent upon location and requirements of individual operations or events to include planning, attendance at meetings or conferences. The expected travel time is less than 25%.
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS
Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable on the company’s automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 25%.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in both an office setting and occasionally in an outdoor USMC appropriate field environment. Shipboard planning sites may be a requirement, and time underway may be required, as necessary. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.
