The Director of Accounting reports directly to the Controller and manages accounting department personnel responsible for general accounting activities, fixed assets, and accruals. The position is responsible for daily general accounting operations while ensuring adherence to internal policies, controls, and US GAAP.

What we will ask you to do:

Manage all phases of month-end close reporting, including review of journal entries and monthly reconciliations prepared by the accounting team.Review the monthly and quarterly balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analysis prepared by the accounting team.Collaborate with Controller to ensure that the financial information is prepared in strict adherence with US GAAP, company policies and procedures, and sound financial management practices.Stay current on financial reporting issues.Assist with documenting and monitoring of accounting processes and internal controls.Supervise accounting team, including guidance, training, direction, and planning.Develop and implements accounting related training programs for all departmental employees, including cross training of positions.Identify continuous improvement opportunities within the department.Provide annual performance reviews of direct reports.Review fixed asset accounting records to ensure adherence to GAAP and internal policies.Manage and reviews the import of employee expense reports into the GL.Assist with financial audits and preparation of supporting files for financial statements and tax returns.Complete ad hoc accounting related requests.Serve as back up reviewer for weekly check runs, as needed.What you will need:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.Certified public accountant preferred.Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience, including management positions.Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards, including advanced accounting principles and the ability to research and apply such principles to complex accounting transactions.Strong management and supervisory skills.Ability to adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment, without sacrificing accuracy.Strong problem solving, analytical, and organization skills.Ability to execute, follow-up, and ensure attention to detail.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.A team player attitude; adept at building relationships across the organization.Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including possible overtime and weekends during crucial time periods (year-end/quarter-end/month-end reconciliation).Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (pivots, vlookup, sumif, etc.) and proficiency in other Microsoft office programs.Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central/Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Navision a plus.Experience with BlackLine software, including journal and reconciliation modules, a plus.What we will provide:
