WHAT WE OFFER

The Category Sourcing Manager directs, coordinates, aligns and manages all commercial and technical procurement activities on a regional and local basis with focus on generating and maintaining value resulting from cost transformation, reliability, sustainability and innovation initiatives balancing cross-functional and cross-regional interests.

Major Responsibilities:

Regional Sourcing lead of defined product basket while optimizing value generation with regards to cost, quality and reliabilityDevelopment and implementation of sourcing strategies to maximize value creation for his area in alignment with the overall strategy of Covestro and Procurement.Preparation, negotiation and finalization of global and regional supply contractsDevelopment of new suppliers including the optimization of the existing supplier portfolio (including supplier selection, evaluation & development)Ensuring implementation of quality, sustainability, and safety standards and corporate compliance rules.Managing the interface to all internal stakeholder such as global/regional product management of the BEs, production, SC&L, different site procurement organizations in NA, PSRA, Covestro and IAP procurement community and others.As Regional Procurement Key Account responsibilities can be segmented in 4 areas: [1] People Management (key point of contact for business for representing all Procurement Categories in the region); [2] Business Value Creation (align/coordinate PRO relevant projects (e.g. circular transformation, digital sourcing, AI based market analytics, lighthouse projects)); [3] Functional Intermediation (Coordinate/Align on business requirements, moderate sourcing strategies and approval, convey key messages between relevant PRO community and business); [4] Market Expertise (provide transparency on sourcing markets/trends, price developments, key challenges and opportunities and supply chain specifics)Member of global sourcing team Amines and Acids and regional IAP communityWHAT YOU OFFER

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience or Master's degree and a minimum of 5 years of experienceRelevant experience in procurementPreferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in chemistry or business managementKnowledge and Skills:

Good negotiation skillsIntercultural and interpersonal skillsGood communication, presentation and problem solving skillsGood analytical skills, fact-based and data-driven that drives direction and performanceAbility to lead cross-functional teams and manage virtual team environmentStrong initiative and self-motivationPossesses a working knowledge of contract and business law, modern procurement processes and practices and the ethics of the supplier / purchaser relationship
