In addition, IPSID students participate in high quality and fully inclusive work-based learning experiences aligned with their employment interests.

The Academic and Employment Specialist (A&E Specialist) will assist the Director and Internship Coordinator with all student-centered services with existing departments on campus to ensure appropriate supports are developed and provided to students, coordinate trainings for faculty, staff, and job coaches, and work with appropriate personnel on campus to ensure beyond reasonable accommodations are adhered to in the classroom and appropriate accommodations are made at internship sites.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in education, Special Education, Human Development and Family Sciences, Social work or related field from an accredited institution of higher education

At least one year of experience working with adults or children with disabilities

Experience working independently and with collaborative teams

Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, special education or related field from an accredited institution of higher education

Experience adapting and modifying academic materials for individuals in inclusive settings

Experience providing professional development or other training

Previous experience working with an inclusive postsecondary education program for young adults with intellectual disabilities

Knowledge and experience of postsecondary academic and student services

Experience providing reasonable accommodations in the workplace

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):Excellent verbal communication skills as demonstrated

Excellent written communication skills

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills

Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT, Zoom, etc)

Additional Information:This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.
