IT Support Specialist - Veterinary Practice
Position Overview:
The IT Support Specialist provides on-site and/or remote technical support to end users for mobile devices and computers in an animal hospital setting. As an IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users within the organization. Your primary duties will involve diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues on desktops, laptops, printers, and other devices.
You will install, configure, and maintain computer systems and applications, ensuring they function correctly. This includes performing basic system administration tasks such as managing user accounts. You will also assist with deploying new IT equipment and software, providing training and guidance to users as needed.
Position Details:
The position is considered part-time (16-20 hours/week,
(Wed, Thursday & Friday) and offers a flexible work schedule and the opportunity to work remotely when feasible. There is potential for some travel to our other clinics in California.
Key Functions and Responsibilities :Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-users via phone, email, or in person.Diagnose and resolve technical issues on desktops, laptops, printers, and other devices.Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and applications.Perform basic network installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.Maintain the VoIP phone system, handsets, and applications.Document IT support activities and keep records of incidents and resolutions.Support the LBEMG custom software and partner with the outsourced development team to ensure optimum operational functionality.Support other veterinary-related software, hardware and systems as needed.Provide training and guidance to users on properly using IT systems and applications.Escalate complex issues to higher-level IT support or subject matter experts.Monitor IT systems and infrastructure for potential problems.Perform basic system administration tasks such as managing user accounts.Maintain IP security cameras and NVR systems.Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure efficient IT service delivery.Adhering to IT support policies, procedures, and best practices.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and IT trends.Assist with researching and deploying new software as needed. Integrate new facilities ensuring smooth transition for new users and all data sharing and transfer.Key Competencies:

Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or IT Generalist in a Windows-based organization.Proven experience administering a Google Workspace environment.Solid understanding of basic network principles and concepts.Strong knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.Working knowledge of VoIP phone systems.Working knowledge of IP security cameras and NVR technologies.Minimum one-year certificate from a college or technical school with 1-year related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.A degree or pursuing a degree n computer science or engineering or a relevant field is preferred.
