Summary
The Answers in Genesis Technology department is seeking an Audio/Video Network Engineer to provide support, network analysis, configuration, documentation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Q-Sys and Dante LAN and WAN infrastructures across a multi-location WAN. This position will be responsible for implementing and optimizing audio & video network services, functions, and connectivity with excellent customer service. Consequently, this position requires strong technical skills displayed in initiative, resourcefulness, and persistence in problem-solving & process optimization. This position will allow one to impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference. ResponsibilitiesPromote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done.Approach all tasks with a second-mile mindsetPrioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignmentsDesign and engineer enterprise networking, both onsite and cloud-managed services.Research, install, troubleshoot, support, and optimize network hardware and software such as HP, Juniper, and Cisco switches, FortiGate firewalls/routers, VLANs, etc.Collaborate with Audio/Video Technology Managers & Engineers in the design, planning, and implementation of enterprise-level changes and additionsCollaborate with vendors for construction projects as it relates to Technology networking needs. This includes pathways, wiring closet locations, wiring standardsCollaborate with other departments on wiring needsMonitor performance and ensure system availability and reliabilityMonitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planningManage network using LAN/WAN monitoring tools.Develop and implement written solutions to remediate problems and increase efficiency.Documentation of network diagrams, implementation procedures, Change Control documentation, Standard Operating Procedures, etc.Research emerging technological tools for possible use in ministry.Continually evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the position's current responsibility set and improve where necessary.Provide escalation support for complex networking issues.And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.Qualifications

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in network engineering, audio networking, or related fields.Strong understanding of networking protocols and audio signal processing.Ability to work in fast-paced environments and meet tight deadlines.In-depth knowledge of Dante protocols and AES67, including its architecture, routing, PTP settings, and configuration options.Knowledge of QSC's Q-LAN protocol suite for audio and video distributionKnowledge of Lighting Protocols: Art-Net and sACN - Working knowledge of ETC Paradigm and Mosaic systemsKnowledge of Crestron NVXAbility to optimize the performance of network switches for use with Q-SYS audio, video, and control peripheralsIn-depth knowledge of Multicast, Unicast, and Broadcast transmission over TCP/IPIdentify and resolve issues with Dante networks, including connectivity problems, packet loss, and latency issues.Strong background in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting, with experience in live events, installations, or similar environments.Ability to administer a segmented, multi-platform enterprise environment using a firm understanding of internetworking topology, infrastructure, hardware, and configuration.Experience in design, analysis, configuration, administration, documentation, and troubleshooting of networks using protocol analyzers, packet sniffers, etc.Experience in the design and configuration of routing protocols.Expert understanding of networking concepts, principles, and practices including segmentation, VLANs and segmentation, TCP/IP, PTP, subnetting, routing, SDWAN, etc.CCNA, or equivalent networking certification REQUIRED.Dante Level 3 Certification preferredFamiliarity with process-driven workflow methodologies such as ITIL and GTD a plus.
