Senior Transmission Line Project Engineer
POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer for our San Diego Power Delivery Line Department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, supporting, and coordinating the following:POWER CultureFoster our culture of "do good work, have fun, build success"Develop innovative client-focused solutionsDemonstrate a high level of personal initiativeEncourage growth, engagement, and accountability among team membersWork in a team environment to solve and build strong internal and external relationshipsProject SupportAll aspects of transmission line design including new lines, relocations, rebuilds, upgrades, structure replacements, and fiber optic additionsLead transmission design efforts with projects ranging from 12kV-765kVPrepare and check design deliverables including plan and profiles drawings, material selection, and construction specificationsPerform quality reviews for both internal and subcontractor deliverablesPrioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and time constraintsManage and develop project estimates, schedules, bids, and engineering supportEvaluate design options, criteria, and routes for technical meritUnderstand construction standards and requirements for high voltage line workCoordinate with contractor and subcontractors to ensure client satisfactionTravel to client offices/field/vendor facilities as neededRequired Education/Experience:Civil (BSCE) or Electrical (BSEE) degree, from an accredited university preferably with a power optionExperience in the design of overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission lines including route selection, line and structure spotting, structure design and analysis, and development of construction bid packagesUnderstanding of NESC and GO-95Proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-LiteThe candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnelExperience using the Microsoft Office software suitePreferred Education/Experience:12 or more years of experience in transmission line design as outlined aboveA California Professional Engineering license (PE) is strongly preferredExperience with MFAD, and Microsoft Project is strongly preferredKnowledge of transmission line routing, field program planning, project management, EPC projects, and line constructionDistribution/underbuild design experience is a plusUnderstanding of ANSI, ASTM, ASCE, and IEC standardsManagerial and leadership skillsProficiency with PLS-TOWERAt POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level. Base Salary Range:$90K - $180K
The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike.
