Job Summary:

As a Transmission Line Engineer III, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and optimization of high-voltage transmission lines to ensure reliable and efficient power delivery. This role requires expertise in transmission line design software such as PLS-CADD, along with strong engineering knowledge and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:Transmission Line Design:

Develop detailed designs for high-voltage transmission lines using PLS-CADD, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.Engineering Analysis:

Utilize PLS-CADD and other tools to perform engineering analyses, simulate line performance under various conditions, and optimize designs for efficiency and reliability.Technical Specifications:

Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for transmission line components and construction methods, adhering to standards and regulations.Project Management:

Coordinate with project managers, clients, and teams to plan and execute transmission line projects, including cost estimation, scheduling, procurement, and quality control.Field Support:

Provide technical support during construction, testing, and commissioning of transmission lines, resolving design issues and ensuring project success.Regulatory Compliance:

Stay updated with industry regulations, codes, and standards related to transmission line design and operation, ensuring projects meet legal and safety requirements.Collaboration:

Work with multidisciplinary teams including electrical engineers, structural engineers, and project managers to integrate transmission line designs into overall power system projects.Continuous Improvement:

Stay informed about new technologies and best practices, participate in research and development efforts, and contribute to enhancing transmission line infrastructure.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering , with a focus on power systems or related field. A Master's degree is a plus.Professional Engineer (PE)

license or eligibility is preferred but not essential as long as you have completed either the

Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)

exam or

Engineer-in-Training (EIT)

certification.5+ years of experience

in transmission line design, analysis, and project management, preferably in the utility or consulting industry.Proficiency in engineering software tools such as

PLS-CADD

(Power Line Systems - Computer Aided Design and Drafting), which is a must-have for this role.Strong knowledge of electrical and structural engineering principles , transmission line design standards (e.g., IEEE, ANSI), and industry best practices.Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail .Effective communication

skills for collaborating with internal teams, clients, and regulatory authorities.Ability to work independently , manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet project deadlines.

Working Environment:

Transmission Line Engineers typically work in office environments using computer-aided design (CAD) software, simulation tools, and project management software. The preferred work schedule is 4 days in the office, with 3 days available for the right profile to work remotely, subject to project needs and approval.

With experience and additional qualifications, Transmission Line Engineers can progress to senior-level roles such as Lead Engineer, Project Manager, or Engineering Manager within the power utility, engineering consulting, or renewable energy sectors.
