Company Overview

Advanced Integrated Services (AIS) provides Electrical, Controls Automation, Instrumentation, Fire & Safety and now seeks to expand HVAC and Plumbing services. In 2023, AIS partnered with Crete United to grow the integrated commercial services business throughout Louisiana, Texas and the southeast. Crete United is one of the largest and fastest growing providers of commercial mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services in the United States. Since partnering with Crete United, AIS will experience significant growth and is seeking a Director/GM of Operations to lead the company through its next chapter. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop and grow HVAC/Plumbing operations in a high growth market with the backing of a national platform.

Position Summary

The

Director or GM of Operations

oversees all aspects of operations (field, project management, estimation, dispatch, and quality control) across all geographies and departments (Construction and Service). In addition, the Director / GM of Operations has full P&L ownership for the operations department. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and significant commercial HVAC operational experience. The Director / GM of HVAC Operations will report to AIS’s VP and will have regular interaction with the Crete United Regional Vice President. We are looking for someone to help build the HVAC side of our business and capitalize on a strong book of well-established AIS clients. This position is based in Youngsville, LA.

Key Responsibilities

Achieve budget goals for your department.

Manage all aspects of operations (field, estimating, project management, dispatch, quality control, etc.) across all geographies and departments (services and construction).

Optimize project profitability and execution (estimating and pricing, contracting and booking, schedules, tracking, reviews and reforecasts, material cost controls, and labor productivity).

Optimize service department operations and profitability (e.g. systems, processes, pricing, quoting and turnaround time, quality control, customer service, field productivity, etc.).

Develop and implement plan to be the employer of choice in the region and increase the size of our field workforce (technicians).

Build a high performing team and set clear goals for your direct reports, and train and develop the managers, staff and technicians in your department.

Work with the business development team to develop new client relationships and expand existing customer relationships.

Work with the President and Controller in the development of budgets, monitor and track the financial performance of your departments, and participate in monthly financial and operations reviews.

Build long-term business relationships with clients, vendors, sub-contractors and partner companies within the Crete portfolio.

Position Requirements

Strong leader with a track-record of leading commercial HVAC teams to achieve results.

Desire to lead a company through a period of transition and rapid growth.

10+ years operations leadership experience (service or construction) in the commercial HVAC industry.

Commercial HVAC technical knowledge gained through experience as a technician (sheet metal, pipefitter, service tech), estimator, project manager, engineer, or operations/service manager.

Previous experience leading teams of 10 or more people.

Previous experience in a P&L responsible role.

Design build capability is a plus.

Strong communication skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.).
