Aspen is looking for an engaging, motivated, and inspirational Quality Systems Engineer to drive Aspen's quality culture forward in the aerogel manufacturing business. The Quality Systems Engineer will report to the Quality Manager & The Corporate Quality Systems Manager (dotted line). The Quality Systems Engineer will lead/support activities related to ensuring conformance to customer requirements, internal business practices, regulatory requirements, and corrective actions, document control, and Internal/External audit coordination and management. The right individual will be a leader who establishes efficient, frequent, and collaborative communication with Operations, Process Engineering, Supply Chain, R&D, and EHS to facilitate collaboration and support of the Aspen Management System. In addition, the QSE will support a culture of continuous improvement throughout the company in alignment with the Aspen Management System for the Aspen Corporation and all manufacturing locations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible to manage and control the Quality System Management in the Aspen Sites.Ensure the Aspen Site under his/her control is communized with the Global Aspen Quality System.Coordinate internal and external ISO9001, IATF16949, and VDA audits as well as the follow-up to the action plans resulting from these audits.Coordinates and plans, in conjunction with the site Quality Manager, Management Reviews and Internal audit schedules.Use key product & process metrics to evaluate process effectiveness, identify improvement opportunities/best practices, and drive continuous quality improvement activities.Provide support by applying manufacturing quality tools including, but not limited to: FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA, IQ, OQ, PQ, control plans, process verification/validation plans, Cpk, Cp, SPC, DOE, process data analysis, and DMAIC.Develop, implement, and ensure that the Aspen Management System conforms to customer, internal, regulatory/legal, and certifying organization requirements.Lead or support root cause investigation of nonconformities and develop, initiate, or implement corrective actions.Overall implementation, sustainability of ISO9001 / IATF16949 Certification including any applicable customer specific requirements.Manages the Aspen Management System including documentation creation, update, and control - Responsible for activities involving quality assurance.Prepare and provide written and oral reports, communications and/or presentations to management around the development/status of Audits.Lead and support quality activities including FMEA, SPC, Internal/External audit support, Calibration systems and Corrective & Preventative Actions within the Aspen Management System.Lead or support root cause investigation of nonconformities and develop, initiate, or implement corrective actions for improved product quality, using standard root cause tools such as 8D, 5 Why's, Fishbone Diagrams, and others.Is the IATF Lead Auditor on site, they are the leader for the Internal Quality Auditors team, responsible to ensure competences are met and defined.Responsible to manage the Customer Specific Requirements.Responsible to manage the internal and external audits calendar, ensure resources and infrastructure to meet the plan are defined and met.Ensure the Aspen Control Management System is efficiently used throughout the organization and conducts trainings and maintenance on this system when needed.LPA Coordinator for all sites.Responsible with the Quality Manager to ensure the company procedures within the organization are executed and up to date.Responsible with the Quality Manager and Site Director to define the methodology to measure and improve the KPI indicators, ensuring the proper follow-up on results and actions (Helps with the KPI review meetings: weekly, monthly and management reviews planning)Support the Quality Manager with the planning on the required training according to new customer specific requirement and IATF requirements.Responsible to close the 8D on time for internal and external audits.Responsible to ensure the MOC Process and APQP Process is followed and managed by the teams according to the standards.MOC Process is the one that coordinates that the MOC is opened according to the internal Aspen Standard and ensure the teams closure on time.Ensure that APQP Process has identified the proper tasks owners to ensure the process is followed according to the SOP, he coordinates with the Program Manager that the deliverables are met in time.
QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline (System, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Mechatronics, etc.) and/or Quality/Purchasing/Supply Chain Management.IATF Lead Auditor Certification required or ability to attain Lead Auditor certification within first 2 months of employment.Conduct IATF and ISO internal audits for all Aspen sites, as needed.Experience in Chemical or Automotive Industry quality is a strong asset.5+ years of experience with OEM (Automotive), preferred.Electric (EV) and Hybrid-Electric vehicle (HEV, PHEV) systems development experience a strong asset.Familiarity with Automotive Core Tools.Support and lead CAR management system in Quality Management System for all Aspen entities.Develop and work to continually improve the Aspen Quality Management System.
