LifeMoves operates over 17 major sites from San Jose to Daly City.Position Summary:The Senior Major Gifts Officer is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift prospects. The goal is to upgrade existing donors, generate leads, and develop new giving opportunities at the level of $10,000+. The Director will collaborate closely with the development team to align the major gifts program with the organization's strategic goals.Key Responsibilities:Donor Upgrades and Cultivation:Develop strategies to increase giving levels of current donors.Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing major donors through personalized engagement.Align a cultivation messaging calendar as a part of the Principal Gifts team.Lead Generation:Identify and generate new major gift prospects via research, networking, and leveraging relationships.Collaborate with the development team to build a pipeline for major and principal gifts.Design events for new lead generation in partnership with the Events Director.New Giving Opportunities:Attract new major gift donors, particularly high-net-worth individuals.Engage new leads through various channels like volunteerism and events.Develop personalized proposals and presentations to secure major gifts.Strategic Planning and Implementation:Work with the Principal Gifts team to execute a comprehensive major gifts strategy.Set and achieve annual fundraising goals, with an emphasis on strategic adjustments as needed.Stewardship and Recognition:Ensure effective stewardship of major donors through personalized messaging, impact reporting, and special events.Maintain detailed records in a CRM system.Qualifications:Required:Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred).At least 5 years of experience in major gift fundraising or a related field.Proven success in securing major gifts and upgrading donors.Strong interpersonal, communication, strategic thinking, and planning skills.Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce.High integrity and professionalism.Preferred:Leadership experience within a nonprofit.Knowledge of major gift fundraising and donor cultivation best practices.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.This position is suited for someone with significant experience in major gift fundraising, a proven track record of success, and strong relationship-building skills. The role is also strategic, requiring collaboration with multiple teams and a focus on long-term donor engagement and stewardship.
