Our Opportunity Summary:
As the Energy Procurement Manager for Global Energy and Water Procurement, you will be responsible for driving the energy and water category and supplier relationships for assigned energy and water procurement projects and regions. You will engage externally with consultants and 3rd party service providers. Internally, you will partner with Global Sustainability and Facilities teams and Site Facilities teams to settle scope, schedule and budget and supervise project status throughout the duration of the project. You will work with Micron Legal to determine the contract strategy needed to support each project, and then drive compliance to that contract. Your primary goal is to deliver the greatest value of each contract, which requires strong sourcing (negotiating), contracting, supplier management, and overall project management skills.
In this role, you are encouraged to collaborate with Regional Supplier Managers across multiple regions, in an indirect leadership role. You will engage in and lead the development and implementation of supplier strategies to optimize cost, supply, and quality. Additional responsibilities include negotiating terms, conditions and pricing to leverage spend, leading and participating in department projects, serving as a primary contact for industry and supplier information, and acting as a mentor for other members within the Procurement organization.

Manage Supplier Relationship Globally
Act as primary point of contact within Procurement for assigned sustainability projects, programs and suppliers
Perform commercial supplier qualification activities to ensure the commercial development of strategic suppliers
Maintain collaborative relationships with supplier(s) while optimally resolving supplier performance/capability issues to ensure alignment with Micron’s strategic direction
Ensure suppliers align with Micron’s business ethics, code-of-conduct programs, and corporate safety policies and social responsibility initiatives
Communicate key supplier management updates and decisions to multiple levels in the organization including Executive Leadership
Enlist senior management, when appropriate, to help reinforce dedication and involvement from suppliers
Provide the voice of the supply base to Micron and provide the voice of Micron to the supply base
Drive Negotiations with Suppliers
Lead or participate in negotiations for contracts
Lead and/or participate in sourcing events/RFQ process
Develop a contract strategy for each project, including to initiate negotiate, build and implement contracted terms and conditions
Incorporate savings targets and contract requirements into negotiations
Lead Supplier Performance
Partner with collaborators and sites teams to build comprehensive view of supplier performance
Collect and relay site specific priorities to suppliers
Own and lead overall Strategic Supplier relationships for category
Collaborate internally to drive and develop key performance measures/metrics for Strategic Suppliers and supervise supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement
Lead in prioritizing and delivering on strategic supplier events, such as Quarterly Business Reviews, Annual Supplier Evaluations, and Executive Review Meetings
Build and Implement Category Strategy
Participate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal setting
Provide market intelligence and price trends to relevant internal customers on a well-adapted schedule
Apply should-cost models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace
Serve as the subject matter expert for energy and water category and share knowledge with key customers and Indirect teams to enable more effective planning, forecasting and execution
Build and publish regular reports on assigned portfolio
How To Qualify:
Bachelor's Degree or higher
PMP certification or equivalent, preferred
Prioritize multiple large-scale projects concurrently; ability to work with minimal direction; strong project management skills
5+ years of proven experience in Indirect Procurement. Energy procurement experience is helpful
Good knowledge of US energy markets, energy generation, legal, regulatory, pricing and billing structure of energy and water contracts
Strong modeling and data analysis skills
Strong negotiation skills
Proficient in MS Office
Comfort around Senior Leaders and Executives, ability to build and deliver executive-level presentations
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$82,000.00 - $184,000.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
