Description
Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Finance and Administration, the Assistant Director of Athletics for Business Operations is responsible for helping ensure the department’s success as directly related to the planning, formulation, and management of all functions related to financial and administrative processes of the department in addition to assisting with budget preparation and monitoring.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provides direction and develops systems to effectively administer the financial operations of the department as it relates to procurement of hotels and transportation for team travel.
Directs the systems for cash advances and cash advance settlements, equipment purchases, purchase requisitions and check payment requisitions.
Constructs, manages, and maintains contest contracts for all teams.
Reviews athletic department expenditures as directed by the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Finance and Administration.
Assists with monitoring the financial performance of each area within our department and initiate corrective actions, when necessary, to minimize impact at year-end.
Assists with all day-to-day internal aspects of the Athletic Department Business Office.
Adheres to and enforces all policies and procedures of Hofstra University, Hofstra Athletic Department, CAA, EIWA, and NCAA.
All staff members are responsible for complying with the policies and procedures set forth by Hofstra University, the Coastal Athletic Association, the NCAA, and the job requirements specific to the particular assignments inherent to athletic administration.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Finance and Administration and the Vice President and Director of Athletics.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum 1 to 3 years of relevant athletic department experience.
This position requires working weekends and holidays and attending athletic events as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred.
