We are seeking a highly organized Distribution Center Warehouse Manager to join our Birmingham, AL team!Job OverviewReporting directly to the DC Regional Manager, the Distribution Center Manager will be the primary person responsible for the day-to-day operations, focusing on safety, quality, inventory control, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will manage the supply chain processes, ensure efficient transportation planning, and supervise warehouse activities while meeting or exceeding all KPIs, leading and developing the warehouse team, and providing impeccable customer service to our customers.Responsibilities and Job Duties:Enforcement and execution of safety policies, including holding daily safety meetings and conducting required inspections.Routing 3 trucks daily with multiple stops and varying durations.Supervise day-to-day tasks of Drivers and Warehouse personnel, ensuring adherence to all safety policies and practices.Ensure 48’ flatbed trailers are loaded safely and within the tenants of the Operations Standards.Check each truck to ensure the quality of material in terms of correct quantity, correct SKU, and salable material.Track Driver routes to ensure the highest levels of customer service and communicate with sales any deviations from the plan.Service Will Call orders safely, quickly, and without errors.Plan for Common Carriers (3rd party trucks) as necessary.Assist with loading trailers for the day’s loads and operate a sit-down forklift.Take pictures of all loaded trucks: Our Trucks, Will Calls, and Common Carriers.Ensure all driver paperwork is complete, accurate, and filed in the driver box for daily deliveries.Accurately receive all inbound material, writing exception reports as necessary.Adjust plans based on material received for orders that day.Coordinate with the HR department and assistant manager to manage personnel issues and requests.Prioritize Safety and Customer Service above all else.Oversee trafficking, customer callouts, and delivery logs.Monitor the loading and unloading of all materials.Maintain inventory integrity by conducting physical counts and reconciling with the inventory system.Schedule and assign daily loads.Manage and maintain equipment and supply inventories.Maintain communication flow with the sales and leadership teams.Process RMAs and adjust plans based on requests from sales.Other Duties & Responsibilities:All other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.Required & Preferred Qualifications:High ability to multitask yet stay focused, thriving in a chaotic culture.Integral role in developing tools, data, and performance metrics to optimize operational efficiency using strong critical thinking skills.Knowledge of distribution center processes, practices, and tools; 5-8+ years of experience preferred.Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize meeting deadlines.Excellent communication and people skills, collaborating with multicultural staff and other departments.Must exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to lead and gain respect from other associates.Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and inventory management.Knowledge of DOT regulations; a CDL A license and forklift certification are a bonus.Commitment to customer service and ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams and managers.Physical Requirements:Physical position involving heavy lifting (~50 lbs.).Ability to climb on and off flatbed trailers, re-strapping or tarping product as needed.Occasionally requires long periods of standing, walking, bending, and twisting.Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.Benefits:Affordable and comprehensive medical insurance.Vision, Dental, Short-term Disability & Life insurance included.401K plan with employer matching contributions.Paid vacation, sick, and holiday time.Employee Assistance Program.Job Type: Full-timeUnited Pipe & Steel is an equal opportunity employer.
