Role Synopsis
We are currently searching for an accomplished operations executive. The Vice President - Operations is a key member of the Leadership Team reporting to the President and is responsible for leading Gilmore's manufacturing and supply chain operations. Accountable for the development and implementation of strategic plans to advance company objectives and foster a culture of continuous improvement

Operations leader for the Company: oversee a vertically integrated manufacturing operation that leverages machine shop, assembly, and manufacturing engineering capabilities to effectively serve our customers by offering quality products with world class lead times.
Day-to-day Operations Leadership: Provide leadership that fosters operational excellence and a culture of continuous improvement that emphasizes safety, quality, ownership, accountability, and teamwork. Lead in a participatory style that motivates people to high levels of productivity, quality, accountability and success.
Provide leadership for maximum employee commitment, satisfaction, retention, & development.
Supply Chain: implementation of procurement strategy and policies. This position is responsible for overseeing the planning, developing, and buying of materials in a timely and cost-effective way while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications
.
Strategic planning: Evolve manufacturing systems and scalable processes to help deliver the Company's growth objectives and to keep the Company on the path toward world class manufacturing capabilities.
Quality:
Drive a culture of the high quality standards through implementation of quality systems, training, audit, and continual improvement initiatives.
Acquisition Strategy: Take a leadership role in evaluating and integrating acquisitions.
Cost Savings: Identify and deliver cost reduction initiatives and implement Lean Manufacturing projects to improve cost competitiveness while maintaining industry leading quality standards.
Working Capital: Manage and drive improvement of working capital with specific focus on inventory management.
Qualifications/Work Experience
Education
A bachelor's degree is required and an advanced degree, such as an MBA, is preferred.
Equiv
alent industry experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
Experience
Essential
10 years of operations leadership with a demonstrated track-record of progression and success. The ideal candidate will have direct experience with precision machining applications and will have lean manufacturing experience.
Demonstrated experience in leading the planning and scheduling functions in a make-to-order engineered products operation.
Exceptional communication skills; demonstrated ability to lead teams and effectively communicate with all levels.
Substantial experience creating and implementing strategic plans for company growth and stability.
Experience with total quality manufacturing management and continuous improvement.
Strong understanding of ERP systems, preferably
Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Significant
understanding and experience within a lean manufacturing environment utilizing Kaizen and Six Sigma practices

Capable of traveling to various facilities around the regions, as well as international locations for meetings or training as necessary and directed.

Capable of properly using standard office equipment, including telephone, and a computer with keyboard.
Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Includes hard hat, steel toed shoes, safety glasses
