Systems Project Manager

Duties :
Fully responsible for a project from initiation to completion.
Project Planning/Definition:
Conceptualize/develop future conditions for SFOR through preliminary project planning, scoping gaps, scheduling, and estimating costs, including reviewing vendor bid packages and recommending vendor selection. Identify risk/roadblocks and create preliminary contingency plan. Create reports to account for resources, equipment, safety, and quality to ensure no delays. Identify required forms/project documents and update throughout project’s life cycle. Collaborate with VP to ensure project plan conforms with company's internal staffing plan. Plan and conduct safety meetings/trainings with field crew.
Schedule Creation and Management:
Create WBS and WBS dictionary for each project and divide into activities. Compile baseline schedule by creating a network of activities and identifying sequential relationships using Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, and update to reflect project progress and forecast projected completion dates. Integrate inter-discipline schedule requirements and constraints to establish logical work sequences for assigned disciplines or specialties. Work with project team and stakeholders to coordinate work sequences with total project plan. Identify critical paths and risks, and plan for resource allocation to avoid conflicts. Provide status reports to clients, project stakeholders, and company management covering Critical Path, Longest Path, Earned Value, Resource Curves, Cost Curves, EAC/ETC reports.
Contract Management Support:
Perform quantity take-off on bid documents, review design specs and contracts to create cost estimate. Identify scope gaps in early stages of project through SFOR process. Calculate financial impact of changes requested by clients on project budget. Pre qualify, solicit, review, negotiate, and approve bids from subcontractors and assist in prep of subcontractor contract docs. Coordinate with legal and financial teams to understand contract language, identify trends and risks, and apply process improvement measures.
Project Management and Cost Control:
Track progress of projects and eliminate identified trouble spots/risks. Facilitate execution of PMO tasks. Work closely with each project’s superintendent by: conducting site walks to commence installation of systems; verify progress; ensure completion per specs; help identify potential issues/resolutions. Create weekly and monthly cost forecast reports. Create project performance graphical reports using budgeted vs actual work performed. Perform continual evaluation of field performance to ensure timely project delivery. Participate in Q&A Project Reviews. Manage RFI process. Organize project close-out by preparing warranty package, collecting warranties and manuals, assisting in demobilizing project sites, and archiving docs.
Design Development:
Work closely with Design team to review designs, shop drawings for accuracy, ensure contract compliance, and accommodate client’s changes. Review and inspect deliverables for contract compliance. Inspect quality standards of work performed by subcontractors, create punch list items, and provide a deviation from shop drawings. Create test plans for installed equipment/systems on job sites. Manage design and development of systems drawings. Implement design strategies, standards, specifications, and codes of practice. Support, understand, and advise clients on requirements for development of system design. Manage team of several designers, evaluating individual design deliverables and overall team performance. Validate systems drawings per project scope.
Inventory Management and Resource Forecasting:
Prepare quotes for clients and coordinate with Accounting. Submit Purchase Orders, Purchase Requisitions, and coordinate.
Requirements :
Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Construction Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field.
Other Special Requirements:
2 years experience as a Systems, Construction, Electrical, or Civil Engineer.
