Job Summary:
The ATV Director is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the ATV program, including safety training, trail rides, and maintenance of equipment. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge of ATVs, educational skills, and a strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.

Week 6: 7/27/25-8/2/25 (Dependent program finalization)
Wage:
$516.00-584.00 per week after R&B of $45.00/week
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive ATV safety program that meets the needs of campers 14 years and older, ensuring all participants are trained in proper ATV handling and safety gear usage.
Conduct regular trail rides, providing guidance and supervision to participants.
Oversee the maintenance and repair of ATVs and related equipment, ensuring they meet all safety standards.
Communicate equipment and material needs in a timely manner to Camp Administration.
Train and supervise ATV program staff and volunteers in operations and safety protocols.
Collaborate with the Camp and Program Director to integrate ATV activities into the broader camp experience.
Enforce all ATV program rules and regulations and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws pertaining to ATV operation.
Handle any incidents or accidents with professionalism and in accordance with camp procedures.
Track and submit completion of ATVSI certification for participants on the completion of the course.
Support overall operations of Schoepe Scout Reservation at Lost Valley and the Scouting America, Orange County Council.
Submit an end of summer report.

The employee must frequently be on their feet walking and hiking for distances up to 4 miles at a time.
Employees must be able to lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds unassisted.
This position requires the employee to work outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions as well as dust, pollen, plant life, insects, and wildlife.
Qualifications:
21 years of age or older.
Obtain ATV Safety Instructor certification from ATVSI.
Prior experience with ATV operation, safety training, and trail leadership.
Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on ATVs.
Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
Excellent communication and instructional abilities.
First Aid and CPR certification, or the ability to obtain certification.
Available to work all summer.
Ability to live on site during the summer season working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as program scheduling requires.
Have or be willing to obtain membership in Scouting America.
Have or be willing to obtain Live Scan background check.
All camp staff must have a completed annual physical done by a medical provider prior to the start of the summer camp season.
Summer camp experience preferred.
