The Lead Mechanical Engineer collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and designers to develop comprehensive construction documents for systems including HVAC (wet and dry), plumbing, and controls, among others.

Performs engineering tasks for the
design of utilities and HVAC (wet/dry) systems for high technology facilities
including cleanrooms, general manufacturing/process facilities and institutional facilitiesPrepares mechanical engineering calculations in support of HVAC systems design including heat load calculations, duct sizing, chilled water hydraulics, static pressure calculations, equipment sizing and selectionPlans and schedules discipline deliverables and activities including man-hour estimation, assigning personnel, and supervision of discipline personnel on the ProjectsSupports project on-site execution and make decisions to support projects and act as technical consultantDevelops manpower and labor cost requirements for a project and monitor them to aid in evaluating project schedule and budgetProvides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertiseDevelops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by discipline teamDevelops of conceptual design, preliminary design and final design documents which would include calculations related to sizing and selecting of these systems, the development of Process andInstrumentation Diagrams, general arrangements and sequences of operation associated with these systemsWorks closely in coordination with the project team and other disciplines as well as other design officesCoordinates with disciplines in the preparation and development of the deliverables and ensuring those other disciplines' inputs are incorporatedOther duties as assignedShow your expertise
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required8+ years of experienceGood time management skills, strong work ethic and attention to detailsIndividual must possess strong communication and organizational skillsStrong team player with an ability to build effective working relationships with individuals, department leads, and client representativesEnergetic and self-motivatedWorks to build and maintain positive and productive working relationships both internal and externalThorough knowledge of codes and common industry standards related to the design of industrial and manufacturing facilities and systemsAbility to mentor and train junior staffProfessional Engineer (PE) License preferred
