Description
Hunter Communications is searching for an experienced Core Network Engineer to conduct hands-on POP/cabinet and data center upgrades or replacements of network routing, switching, fixed wireless, and power systems. This individual will manage projects, working with both internal and external stakeholders, and ensure the successful creation and adherence to approved project plans, budgets, and schedules. The position also provides support for resolution of escalated customer service issues relating to the core network.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Install, provision, configure, upgrade core network routers and switchesDesign, plan and implement core network logical and physical migrationsTroubleshoot and resolve core network issuesMaintain complete and accurate documentation of specific project detailsProvide top-level and on-call support for escalated customer service issues up to and including service outagesManage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, facilitate resolution of any issuesUtilize monitoring tools to proactively identify potential issues and plan for future growthTier 3 NOC SupportProvision, configure, upgrade fixed wireless network devicesFacilitate the procurement of equipment and materials specific to projectsTasks and projects relevant to the position as neededRequirements
Strong working knowledge of project/program management, conducting end to end project management of network projectsHigh proficiency with routing and switching technologiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong troubleshooting and multitasking abilitiesDesired Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Networking, or equivalent, related work experience preferredJuniper JNCIA-Junos/JNCIS-SP, Comptia A+/Net+, Nokia NRS 1, Cisco CCNA, or similar certifications preferred4 years of IT/Networking experience strongly preferred High proficiency with routing and switching technologiesProficient with MPLS, ISIS, BGP and OSPF protocolsFamiliar with Fixed Wireless systems and technologiesKnowledge of optical networking technologies (CWDM, DWDM)Familiar with Passive Optical NetworksExperience with Juniper, Nokia and Cisco platforms strongly preferred
