Role DescriptionThe Consumer Associate Director for Pain will be responsible for defining strategy, planning, and execution of consumer marketing efforts of our pain brands. This individual will lead our omnichannel marketing efforts for B2C and B2B2C initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Work in conjunction with the Canine and Feline Pain Strategy Marketers and the TA Strategic Lead to develop the pain pet owner strategic plan and coordinate its execution.
Develop, implement, and measure direct-to-consumer (DTC) marketing initiatives that support the immediate and long-term growth of the pain portfolio including DTC advertising, in-clinic pet owner activation, Zoetis Petcare Rewards, and Retail partnerships.
Develop and execute proactive public relations and crisis management plans.
Participate in the ongoing financial planning, market development, and product forecasting.
Serve as the primary marketing partner to provide direction on pet owner materials and programs to the Customer Strategy team.
Serve as the primary marketing partner to provide direction on pet owner digital marketing strategy and execution to the Digital Marketing, the Customer Digital Solutions, the Marketing Engine, and the Communications teams.
Be highly responsive in managing all communications with customers, agencies, cross-functional partners, and senior leadership.
Rigorously monitor and gather key pet owner insights, competitive activities, and market insights to incorporate into effective marketing strategies.
Actively work with multiple internal stakeholders (Medical Affairs, Portfolio Strategy, Independent Sales, Corporate & Specialty and Channel, Data & Digital Strategy, insights & Analytics, Net Revenue Management, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Finance, Learning & Development, Manufacturing, etc.) and Consumer Advertising agencies to drive strong market growth.
People leader, with one direct report.
Lead Budget Operations planning efforts for the Pain portfolio, being accountable for forecasting and tracking all promotional expenses (A&P) and working with the Budget Operations team.
Qualifications & Experience
10 years of marketing leadership or related experience with demonstrable success. Animal health, veterinary marketing experience is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Business, Marketing or relevant major, MBA preferred.
Excellent understanding of science-based marketing and the marketing process.
Proven ability to develop and deliver best-in-class consumer marketing plans and programs to address a dynamic market.
Proven ability to develop DTC campaigns and media plans that funnel consumers from brand awareness to loyalty in a highly competitive marketplace, including partnering with Agencies on planning, initiation, development, launch, optimizations, and analytics.
Demonstrated experience in influencing a team from a key role in a strategic business initiative.
Ability to favorably influence people without direct authority. Strengths in team collaboration and relationship building.
Strong written and verbal communication, project management, and computer software skills among standard company programs.
Highly responsive and results-oriented. Strategically agile and energized by a fast-moving environment.
Strong financial analysis skills and proven ability to manage budgets and expenses.
Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Proven ability in handling and effectively prioritizing multiple projects while maintaining a positive attitude.
LocationThe role may require occasional travel for market research, industry events, and coordination with external partners. Flexibility regarding location is preferred, with options for remote work or on-site presence depending on company policy and the specific needs of the team.
