Position: Tasting Room ManagerMatthiasson Wines is seeking an experienced manager to oversee our Napa Tasting Room.The ideal team-member will be an advocate for our family-owned winery and a representative who is dedicated to sharing Matthiasson wines and the company’s commitment to responsible agriculture and winemaking. This position requires excellent communication skills, a penchant for leadership and team management, and the ability to maintain a high level of hospitality.Key Responsibilities:
Create and manage tasting experiences, maintaining an environment of warm hospitality.Oversee Tasting Room Associates to ensure that standards of sales, service and operations are upheld.Manage emails and phone calls to and from the tasting room with positivity and professionalism.Host wine tastings with special emphasis on hosting VIP groups & Trade visitors.Manage the Tasting Room inventory of wine and supplies.Ensure the hospitality area is consistently well-maintained and visually appealing.Manage Point of Sale (POS) system [Commerce 7].Produce sales reports and relay to relevant departments on a regular basis.Interface with order fulfillment team to ensure stable flow of all sales/orders, including wine clubs.Work with Tasting Room Team to reach sales goals.Manage all bi-annual Wine Club pick-up parties and other special events.Communicate and work effectively with other departments, including the winery and vineyard teams, to maintain the building & property and coordinate the use of space.Manage tasting room staff for any other sales special initiatives, including phone call campaigns, events, etc.Requirements:
In-Person, 5 days-a-week, including weekends.Must be flexible -- we are a small team, so the responsibilities of this position are somewhat fluid and can change as events around us change.Must have team management experience.Must be detail-oriented.Must have excellent communication skills: communicate openly and regularly with management, team members, and other departments at the winery.Approach both customers and Matthiasson teammates with respect, humility, and kindness.Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as experience with Excel, sales order processing & sales reporting.Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a current driver’s license.Physical requirements:Ability to lift and move 50 pounds repeatedly.Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time over uneven terrain.Ability to effectively stock wine, set-up and break down procedures, equipment, etc., and be able to utilize dolly/cart and assist in moving heavy objects.Benefits: health benefits, 9 paid holidays + vacation, and more.This position reports to the General Manager (Shane Michalik).Please submit a cover letter and resume directly to MatthiassonTastingRoom@gmail.com.No phone calls, please.
