POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking a Program Manager to join our team of professionals.
Duties include:
Oversee the operations and strategic initiatives of Academic Community Programs and Partnerships. Manages pathway programs, collaborates on planning and evaluation, and focuses on student success. Develop outreach initiatives, markets events, and fosters community partnerships. Ensures logistical efficiency, compliance with FIU policies, and represents the office on committees. Supervises staff, manages budgets, supports instructional activities, oversees grants, and reports on program outcomes.
Overseas and facilitates support services for Academic Community Programs and Partnerships. Collaborate with leadership to develop individualized plans for pathway program participants and conduct quarterly meetings to review and advise on participants' study plans. Participates and contributes to the Academic Community Programs and Partnerships grant writing process. Coordinates operational and financial activities of grants, monitoring and tracking the status of programs through their life cycle and provides updates to the leadership team as needed. Manages budgetary exceptions and provides resolutions in a timely manner.
Responsible for utilizing the Canvas page to facilitate communication and information sharing with program participants.
Guides, supervises, and evaluates the work of staff within the office in the day-to-day operations. Assesses goals and analyzes administrative operations to determine potential enhancements, performance improvements, program efficiencies and future growth of the programs.
Provides support with instruction/training, including matters such as training content development, evaluating quality and methods of dissemination, researching, and recommending new educational components, and/or revisions to existing programs as necessary.
Monitors accounts/expenditures and reconciles statements. Advises management on budgetary needs or discrepancies. Approves travel and purchases for the office.
Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Works with and/or resides with minors and/or vulnerable persons within their role.
Manages existing pathway programs and collaborates with Deans in the overall planning, implementation, and evaluation of these programs, focusing on recruitment, admission, advising, retention, and success for both current and prospective students.
Organizes, promotes, and maintains collaborative working relationships with key faculty, leadership, staff, and volunteers in support of FIU. Works in tandem with development professionals across academic disciplines and industries, as well as other unit deans, and directors to advance the mission of FIU.
Manages all logistical matters related to Academic Community Programs and Partnerships programming, including planning, implementation, and evaluation of events and services. Represents the Office of Academic Community Programs and Partnerships (ACPP) on university and college committees, task forces, and working groups.
Collects data using various data collection methods, such as interviews and surveys, to report on program progress and outcomes. Manages research or program data sets. Participates in the program participant selection committee.
Develops and implements community outreach and educational initiatives to inspire and recruit college and pre-collegiate students. Plans and executes events at partner colleges and engagement opportunities at FIU.
Develops and implements procedures and practices to improve efficiency and ensures compliance with FIU policies, procedures, and practices, as well as federal, state, and local regulatory standards. Maintains accreditation standards and other governing body requirements, while also assisting in the coordination and preparation of strategic plans to support the programs or services.
Collaborates with the Director of Media and Community Relations to market events, expanding the social media footprint and fostering partnerships with community organizations.
Serves as a liaison between Academic Community Programs and Partnership pathway program participants and the Office of Student Affairs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience in office or related experience or Master's degree in an area generally related to grant content or specific area preferred with two (2) years of experience in related field.
