Ensure cargo claims arising from our 3rd party motor carriers are settled within industry standard timelines, following best practices in a highly service sensitive environment. Primary responsibilities will include working with internal operations, external shipping customers, 3rd party contracted motor carriers and insurance carriers to settle cargo claims.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesServe as primary liaison between internal and external customers in the managing of cargo claim subrogation.Assist in developing internal claims management policy.Streamline claims management process.Investigate, negotiate and resolve cargo claims to ensure that claims are analyzed for coverage, adjusted and paid timely.Direct managerial responsibilities.Maintain and update Claims Management software.Ensure that all claims are handled within industry standards and guidelines.Review and analyze claim reports to identify and address trends.Proficient understanding in relevant insurance policy coverages, terms and conditions.Extensive knowledge of claims handling process from notification to subrogation, settlement and recovery.Excellent interpersonal skills: strong written communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and effectively across various levels in the organization.Forward-thinking approach to claims handling.Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple claims at the same time.Perform all other duties as assigned and required.RequirementsBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.Knowledge of claims involving the FMSCA and Carmack Amendment is preferred.3-5 years of cargo claims experience in the transportation, freight forwarding, or 3rd party logistics industry.Familiarity with claims management software and Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint & Excel.Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
