Position SummaryThe role will spearhead and manage strategic initiatives within the cancer health equity study entitled “Using a Plant-Based Diet and Exercise to Improve Outcomes in African American Postmenopausal Breast and Endometrial Cancer Survivors.” This role is responsible for directing and managing all aspects of the program, including coordinating with institutional and organizational partners, executing community outreach, and leading research efforts aimed at addressing cancer disparities. This role plays a crucial role in developing and implementing interventions focused on plant-based nutrition and physical activity to enhance health outcomes for African American postmenopausal women affected by breast and endometrial cancers.
The ideal candidate will excel in program management, overseeing all operational facets and project management functions to ensure the study’s objectives are achieved. This includes managing both qualitative and quantitative research activities, overseeing data collection, analysis, literature reviews, and the dissemination of findings. Essential duties include monitoring the productivity and workflow within the program, tracking the progress of interventions, managing focus groups, and overseeing curriculum development. The role also involves supervising staff, providing training, and ensuring that all program activities align with grant requirements and organizational standards.
This role will collaborate closely with researchers, healthcare professionals, and community organizations to effectively translate research findings into actionable insights and practical interventions. They will represent the study at meetings, conferences, panels, and public forums, advocating for the mission of the study and contributing to broader discussions on cancer health equity. Furthermore, this role will engage with healthcare systems, media companies, and broadcast networks to advance the study’s goals and enhance its impact. Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides input into strategic decisions that affect planning, policies, practices, and operations related to the research program.
Develop and implement interventions to improve health outcomes for African American postmenopausal women.
Coordinate with institutional and organizational partners to ensure program objectives and efforts are aligned and successful.
Engage key communities to secure participation and partnership pathways.
Represent the study at meetings, conferences, and public forums to advocate for cancer health equity.
Promote the study’s goals and impact through engagement with healthcare systems, media companies, and broadcast networks.
Manage and supervise program staff and students, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and organizational standards.
Oversee all program activities, including planning, implementation, and monitoring, to ensure goals and objectives are met according to study aims, timeline, and budget.
Monitor progress, ensure deliverables are met, and track participant enrollment and focus group activities.
Prepare and submit all required reports to Principal Investigators and Co-Investigators.
Direct research implementation and evaluation, ensuring adherence to fidelity parameters.
Coordinate with advisory committees and community organizations to maintain effective partnerships.
Write reports, analyze data, and ensure compliance with funding standards.
Address research planning and implementation challenges with innovative strategies.
Collaborate with researchers, healthcare professionals, and community organizations to translate research into actionable insights.
