Enterprise IT (EIT) is an essential component of the current IT division that provides support to the Pharmaceutical Research, Supply Chain, Marketing (HH) organizations as well as Enabling Functions. The SAP Platform Team is part of our EIT organization and owns our SAP Global Template asset which enables enterprise-level capabilities through harmonized business processes and data. The team is responsible for the operation of all SAP and integrated solutions, governance of the associated enterprise assets, and cost-effective delivery of capabilities to support achievement of immediate and future state business objectives.
The SAP Platform Communications Lead will play a critical role in our customer/business-centric approach. This role will be responsible for proactively driving integrated strategic communications, which will ensure visibility to key SAP Platform initiatives and related value realization. Position will be instrumental in supporting our organization through a transformative journey as we adopt a product model mindset and begin our S/4 Journey.
As the SAP Platform Communications Lead you will be responsible for:
Communication Strategy development:
Create a comprehensive communication strategy and plan aligned with SAP platform team goals and objectives that aligns with the EIT strategic goals and priorities. Define key messages, target audiences, channels, and timelines for communication activities. Will include strategy within team (Product Line and Service Teams) and between organizations (Value Teams, Key Business Stakeholders, third party partners)
Stakeholder Engagement:
Support SAP Platform leadership with identification, assessment, and engagement of key stakeholders. Develop, execute, and monitor stakeholder engagement plans for execution by SAP Platform Leadership Team.
Create and Deliver Communications:
Clear, concise, and impactful communications to promote awareness, understanding, and support for SAP platform team activities.
Communication Channel Management:
Manage various communication channels and tools such as internet portals, social media platforms, email distribution lists, communication media, SAP Town Hall meetings, team spaces, confluence, and MS Teams communities. Determine the most effective channels to reach target audiences and ensure consistent and timely communication flow.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with EIT Communications & Change Director to ensure alignment with broader EIT strategies, objectives and divisional communication efforts and updates. Develop a network with communication professionals across Divisional IT organizations, as well as in key Business Functional Organizations that interact with / leverage SAP Platform.
Measuring Success:
Focus on defining measurable outcomes and success metrics.
Continual Improvement and Mentoring:
Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team (including external bench marking and harvesting of Communication best practices). Provide Communications related mentoring, coaching, and guidance to SAP Platform team members.
SAP Platform Leadership Support:
Support SAP Platform Leader with management of tactical communication activities, including but not limited to:
Managing the OKR (Objectives & Key Results) process for reporting on value delivery by the SAP Platform
Working with platform leaders to prepare value statements for change delivery (weekly, bimonthly and with major initiatives)
Managing SAP Platform Townhalls – content development and delivery
Providing information to Director, EIT Communications & Change for EIT Town Halls, Communications, etc.
Communication editorial calendars for bimonthly releases, projects, and other key initiatives
Developing strategy for Internal and external facing SharePoint sites and confluence pages and collaborating with stakeholders to manage content updates.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree required.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Corporate Communications, Change Management, or related field
Personal accountability, autonomy, leadership, teaming, and organizational skills to drive and track success.
Experience with developing, implementing, and communicating a sharp vision and strategy to all levels of management, including senior leadership.
History of successful communication leadership for complex technology-enabled transformations in an ambiguous, fast paced environment.
Strong communications experience, able to write and tailor content for specific audiences demonstrating a deep understanding of messaging, positioning and stakeholder needs.
Exceptional writing skills, experience managing a variety of corporate communications channels.
Demonstrated leadership, flexibility, and ability to collaborate in a matrix organization, participating in cross-divisional projects and building peer relationships.
Persuasive communication, interpersonal and critical thinking skills with ability to influence and build relationships across broad range of stakeholders.
Ability to manage in an environment which includes diversity of culture and languages.
Preferred Experience:
Delivery of communications and change strategies in conjunction with modern IT delivery methods (e.g., agile, waterfall, DevSecOps etc.) to technical and non-technical audiences
IT and Digital Transformation experience
Business case documentation experience
Experience managing communication related translation activities.
