850 76th Street S.W. - Byron Center, Michigan 49315Job Description:Position Summary:This role is responsible for developing, directing and implementing planogram strategies and store reset activities to achieve department budget while driving positive sales & margin results for categories. This role also will provide leadership in building merchandising best practices to support customer centric category management, develop priorities, and utilize available resources to achieve business goals.Here's what you'll do:Responsible for developing, directing and implementing planogram strategies and category reset activities.Partner with category management to implement strategies that optimize assortment in planograms by market and banner.Responsible for planning, forecasting and budgeting for the shelf technology department.Direct team to ensure coordination with each business owner and store operations management staff to facilitate planogram reset activities; this includes defining merchandising & planogram standards, specifications and compliance measurement.Analyze and evolve business models that organize all brokers and vendor retail resources designed to implement planogram and merchandising strategies.Build tools and processes to ensure the current program (e.g. Home Store), new initiatives and business models are implemented in all corporate and independent owned retail locations that opt into the program.Work closely with cross-functional departments to facilitate the development, deployment and refining of tools and methodologies related to assortment, planogram and category solutions.Responsible for department management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals.Maintain current knowledge of legal regulations, industry trends and best practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes and to ensure company legal compliance.Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.Here's what you'll need:Bachelor’s degree in marketing, finance, business administration, or related field.Eight years of marketing, merchandising, retail operations, space planning or relevant experience.Three years of supervisory/management experience.Excellent leadership, organizational, prioritization, problem solving, analytical skills.Strong attention to detail, negotiation and multitasking skills.Demonstrated experience working across multiple business units; ability to interact and influence associates and management.Ability to identify operational issues and recommend and implement strategies to resolve problems.Working knowledge of developing strategic initiatives which align with business goals and budget.Working knowledge of Blue Yonder, NielsenIQ, or other similar software for producing planograms.Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).Ability to travel up to 10%.Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
