Sourcing Manager

Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Sourcing Manager will be responsible for procurement support for launch readiness of new products / innovations under development as well reordering support and inventory planning for legacy products in the market. Incumbent in this role, will represent procurement in early-stage development and act as bridge between development teams, and procurement category management teams to drive preferred supplier choices. Incumbent will be responsible to proactively address risks in supplier choices, and support launch readiness with by working closely with category sourcing team, supplier engineering team, and development teams. The incumbent in the role, will plan, direct, and support the delivery against targets for procurement across financial performance, supply reliability across quality & service, and compliance adherence.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure efficient, cost-effective purchasing while maintaining the highest quality of goods and services.Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, manage supplier performance, and identify opportunities for improvement or cost reduction.Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels to ensure timely replenishment, reduce excess inventory, and prevent stockouts, while working closely with the supply chain and production teams.Cost Control: Conduct market analysis to monitor trends, manage price negotiations, and continuously seek opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.Contract Management: Oversee the creation, negotiation, and management of supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.Risk Management: Assess risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of buyers or purchasing agents, ensuring alignment with company objectives and professional development.Reporting and KPIs: Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including cost savings, supplier performance, and delivery times. Provide regular updates to senior management.Compliance: Ensure all purchasing activities comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, company policies, and ethical standards.Qualifications:
BS in Operations/Supply chain management or related fieldAPICS certification (CPIM/CSCP) desiredTotal 6+ years of experience with minimum of 4 years of strong procurement experience required.Material Resource Planning (MRP) with ERP applications experience requiredExperience in multiple disciplines of Supply Chain, including External Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, Distribution and / or related field is advantageous.Strong inventory planning and optimization experienceGood level of understanding of the machining (metals, plastics)Broad-based understanding of business operations and practices and core procurement areas of focus (e.g., Spend Management, Category Management, Sourcing & Supplier Management)Strong leadership, communication (verbal and written), influencing, collaboration skills are key.Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex informationStrong Business Acumen with Medical Devices experience preferred.Continuous improvement/lean/six sigma experience, black belt preferred.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
