Foster the technical expertise and professional skills of direct reportsLeverage Safety expertise to proactively cycle PDCA to reduce injuries and hazards and ensure continuous improvement of safety characteristics of assigned areasAccurately interpret and apply the Honda Safety Management manual including NA and HDMA policies and procedures. Participate in PDCA of policies and procedures based on technical expertisePerform and document complex safety compliance activity including risk assessments, ergonomic studies, and process and equipment innovation.Detailed presentation and reporting of safety activities and results including complex data analysis and trendingDevelop personal technical expertise and professional skills
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or other ABET-certified safety and health program or equivalent related experience7-12 years of safety experience or equivalent Honda manufacturing experienceAchievement of professional certification such as Advanced Safety Certificate, Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician, Certified Safety Professional, Safety Management Specialist.Interpersonal relationship skillsDetailed understanding of major health and safety regulations and injury/illness prevention strategiesAbility to communicate with all levels of the organizationVerbal and written communication skillsExperience using Microsoft Office productsStrong planning and prioritization skillsAdvanced data analysis and problem-solving skillsComplex understanding of business plan, budgeting and cost reporting.Expertise with root cause analysis and implementation of countermeasures
