The Chief Inspector role seeks to bridge the communication between maintenance and quality by providing knowledge and expertise to provide airworthiness to our customers' aircraft.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Exercises control and responsibility for all quality control resources within the parameters set by the Director of Maintenance.Makes airworthiness determinations.Works closely with Planning and others in the preparation of work packages to optimize resources and elapsed time required for the maintenance visits.Ensures that all priorities set by the VP of Quality Control are met and adjusts shift resources to meet those priorities.Monitors the progress of all projects by effectively coordinating with senior supervisors.Assists QC Managers on their assigned projects as required.Coordinates projects with Logistics-Stores and all support departments to ensure the smooth implementation of projects on a timely basis.Coordinates with customer representatives as necessary within guidelines established by the VP, Quality Control.All other duties as assigned.CORE COMPETENCIES:Business SavvyBeing Connected & RespectfulBuilding Relationships and PartnershipsTransformational FocusAccountabilityQualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required:Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in standard English.Able to interface in a professional and pleasant manner with other AAR employees at all levels and with customers as required.Computer literacy, particularly in those software programs which are relevant to industrial engineering.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Minimum of ten years experience in an MRO or airline setting in maintenance and/or quality control.Mandatory knowledge of the FAA-JAA and other regulatory requirements as they pertain to aircraft maintenance and certification.Familiar with Aircraft Manufacturer and Air Carrier Maintenance Programs.Holds current A & P license in good standing.Qualified to function at the highest level in the quality department.PHYSICAL DEMANDS WORK ENVIRONMENT:
