to join our IT Team for our Houston, TX pharmacy location! We are seeking candidates that live within driving distance to our pharmacy. - The ideal candidate will assist in the maintenance, management, and optimization of our database systems to ensure their high performance, availability, and security. This role offers an excellent opportunity to learn and grow in the field of database administration and analysis.401k with a matchPaid Time Off and Paid HolidaysTuition ReimbursementCompany paid benefits – life; and short and long-term disabilityDatabase Administrator I Major Responsibilities:Assist in the installation, configuration, and upgrading of database server software and related products.Monitor database systems to ensure availability and performance.Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, recovery, and performance tuning.Support the development of data models and database designs.Create and maintain documentation for databases and reports.Monitor and enforce database access controls.Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations regarding data privacy and security.Assist in the development and execution of disaster recovery plans.Provide support for database-related issues and troubleshoot problems as they arise.Stay updated with the latest database technologies and industry best practices.Propose and implement improvements to database systems and processes.Eagerly perform other tasks as assigned.Database Administrator I Position Qualifications:Education/Learning Experience
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
Work Experience
Required: Database administration, database analysis, or a related role. Internships or relevant coursework may be considered.Desired: Experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service.
Skills/Knowledge Required:Basic understanding of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).Proficiency in SQL and database query languages.Familiarity with data modeling and database design concepts.Basic knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.Knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SSIS Package, Azure Data Studio.Knowledge of scheduling and monitoring SQL Jobs.Knowledge of PowerBI.Experience in Backup and Restore activity for databases.Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift).TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go programming languages, Open-Source Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases.License/Certifications Desired:Microsoft Certified: Database Administrator Associate or Data Analyst Associate or Azure Data Engineer Associate.
