The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan is seeking an exceptional Chief Development Officer to lead our fundraising and development efforts. As the Chief Development Officer, you will be instrumental in creating and implementing a strategic fundraising plan that ensures the necessary resources to support our aggressive growth strategy and organizational plan to scale. We are looking for a dynamic leader with a proven track record in securing local, regional, and national gifts and donors. This is a senior leadership position that requires strategic thinking, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and a deep passion for our mission.

Responsibilities: Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan that aligns with the organization's aggressive growth strategy and enables us to scale our impact.

Lead the development team in cultivating and securing local, regional, and national gifts and donors, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and other funding sources.

Identify and pursue new funding opportunities through strategic grant writing, major gifts, planned giving, special events, and innovative fundraising initiatives.

Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, community leaders, and volunteers, to engage their support and involvement in our fundraising activities.

Implement best practices in donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to ensure a high level of donor satisfaction, retention, and continued support.

Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the development team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture.

Oversee the management and tracking of all fundraising activities, including donor database management, gift processing, and accurate reporting.

Collaborate closely with the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors to develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that supports our long-term sustainability and growth objectives.

Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging practices in fundraising, incorporating innovative approaches into our development efforts.

Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and meetings to raise awareness and garner support for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Minimum of 8-10 years of demonstrated success in nonprofit fundraising, with a focus on securing local, regional, and national gifts and donors.

Proven track record in meeting or exceeding aggressive fundraising goals and cultivating long-term relationships with donors.

Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a high-performing team.

Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities, with the capacity to develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan that supports aggressive growth and scalability.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present to diverse audiences and influence key stakeholders.

In-depth knowledge of fundraising best practices, industry trends, and regulations.

Experience working with a Board of Directors and engaging board members in fundraising activities.

Familiarity with donor management software and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
