Job Description:

The Senior Manager, Tax Process & Technology is responsible for optimizing Mars’ tax operations by leveraging advanced technologies, refining existing processes, and implementing innovative solutions. Reporting directly to the Global Tax Planning Director, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong understanding of tax principles, exceptional project management skills, and a passion for driving continuous improvement.

What are we looking for?Education & Professional Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university required.

Master’s degree in taxation preferred.

Certified Public Accountant license preferred.

Knowledge / Experience

Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in corporate tax, with a focus on process improvement, technology implementation, and/or tax operations management.

Strong technical knowledge of corporate tax principles, including tax compliance, provision, planning, and reporting.

Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects and teams, with a track record of successfully implementing process improvements and technology solutions.

Proficiency in tax technology platforms and software applications, including ERP systems, tax compliance software, data analytics tools, and robotic process automation (RPA).

Experience in tax reporting systems (ONESOURCE Income Tax and Provision and Dataflow, GoSystems) with implementation experience preferred.

Experience in data analytics systems (Alteryx, Power Query, Power BI, Tableau) with implementation experience preferred.

Experience in SAP ECC, SAP S/4 and Oracle ERP systems preferred.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex tax issues, identify trends and patterns, and make data-driven recommendations.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Proven leadership abilities, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams, drive change, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

What will be your key responsibilities?

Strategic Technology Integration: Lead the assessment, selection, and implementation of tax technology solutions to streamline processes, enhance data analytics, and improve overall efficiency.

AI Innovation: Drive the exploration and deployment of AI technologies in tax operations.

Change Management: Drive organizational change by effectively communicating the benefits of process improvements and technology implementations, providing training and support to stakeholders, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders across finance, IT, legal, and other departments to ensure alignment of tax processes with broader organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.

Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement within the tax department, designing and implementing best practices to increase accuracy, reduce risk, and achieve operational excellence.

Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, including tax software providers, consultants, and service providers, to maximize the value of external resources and drive successful project outcomes.

Performance Measurement: Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the effectiveness of tax processes and technology solutions, driving accountability and enabling data-driven decision-making.

Leadership and Team Development: Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of tax professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture focused on achieving departmental goals and objectives.
