The Ransburg YMCA is looking for a Director of Buildings and Grounds to ensure our community space remains inviting and well-maintained. In this position, you'll manage the cleaning schedule, supervise staff, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards.General Function:As the Director, you will manage a team of 5-8 part-time employees across three shifts. Your responsibilities will include staff selection, scheduling, training, and evaluation, along with inspecting work and addressing maintenance concerns. While your primary focus will be on directing operations, you will also perform custodial and minor maintenance tasks approximately 40% of the time.Key Responsibilities:Hire, train, and supervise cleaning staff to maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.Direct and perform daily cleaning duties and minor maintenance tasks, including heavy cleaning and basic repairs.Monitor and manage department budgets, purchasing, and inventory of supplies and equipment.Serve on the Ransburg YMCA leadership team and will serve in the Manager on Duty rotation as needed.Act as a First Responder in emergencies, modeling safety practices for staff.Assist with pool maintenance and oversee HVAC, electrical, and plumbing repairs as needed.Represent the Ransburg YMCA by serving on the Association Buildings and Grounds Cabinet.Qualifications:Must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma (Associate’s degree preferred).3-5 years of experience in housekeeping and general maintenance, including supervisory roles.Proven customer service skills and the ability to work independently with a high regard for safety.Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of fiscal management and experience with purchasing and facility management software preferred.Must obtain and maintain CPR AED and First Aid certifications within 30-60 days of employment.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., with occasional lifting of 100 lbs.Capability to work in various environments and conditions, including dusty or damp areas.Why Join Us?At Ransburg YMCA, you will be part of a dedicated team committed to creating a positive environment for our members and staff.
