If you are interested and have the skills and desire to make a difference, please continue by completing our online application.GENERAL FUNCTIONUnder the direction of the Executive Director or Associate Executive, the Senior Director of Building and Grounds will direct the maintenance and cleaning schedule to ensure the proper operation of the facility and provide a clean, safe environment for members, volunteers, and staff. Responsibilities include staff selection, scheduling, training, evaluation, inspection of work, investigation of complaints regarding maintenance/custodial services, and taking corrective action. The Senior Director will also perform custodial and minor maintenance functions to meet the needs of the facility.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS• High school diploma and an Associate’s degree, or equivalent. Requires 4-5 years of direct experience and supervision of related technical aspects of housekeeping and general maintenance. Must demonstrate experience in customer service-related areas and have a proven record of working independently with a high regard for safety. Strong supervisory, communication, and organizational skills are required.• Obtain/maintain annual certifications in CPR AED and First Aid, and attend mandatory trainings within 30-60 days of employment. Knowledge of fiscal management and supply purchasing is preferred.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES• Designated as a First Responder in emergencies.• Develops, administers, and controls designated budgets in consultation with Associate and/or Executive Director.• Responsible for selecting, training, and supervising department staff and volunteers.• Interprets Association goals, objectives, and policies to the community.• Supervises staff on multiple shifts to maintain facility cleanliness.• Oversees routine maintenance tasks; may assist with maintenance in the absence of qualified staff.• Maintains or makes repairs on HVAC systems, lighting, electrical, and plumbing, or contacts contractors for major repairs.• Inspects contractor work and reports to Associate Executive.• Evaluates performance of direct reports and oversees the evaluation process of other departmental staff annually.• Conducts risk management control tests on fire alarm and emergency systems monthly.It is the policy of the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis to provide equal employment opportunity to employees and candidates for employment.
