The Associate Vice President for Operations is responsible for the strategic planning and management of the infrastructure and central services needed to advance fundraising and engagement activities. In this role, the AVP will oversee business intelligence and operations, providing high-level leadership for data systems, records management, gift administration, and gift and donor stewardship. The position supervises a team of approximately nine professional staff members with three direct reports and is considered a senior member of the Advancement team.Responsibilities
Conceptualize and implement a comprehensive and sustainable suite of technology and business solutions that will position the Office of Advancement as a leader in development and alumni relations information services.Work across the division to understand needs and goals to provide direction in developing reporting and visualizations that provide actionable insights for both strategic and tactical use.Serve as primary liaison to the college’s division of ITS and other information technology teams on campus to ensure seamless integration of advancement system management and maintenance.Provide strategic direction and support in the execution of a comprehensive donor stewardship program, to include donor recognition, acknowledgments, endowment and stewardship reporting, and curated donor experiences.Provide strategic direction and support in the execution of records management and enhancement.Oversee budget development, tracking, and analysis for the Office of Advancement.Oversee all compliance reporting including the annual state charitable registration process and financial audit reporting.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of ten years working in fundraising operations, information management and/or business intelligence with at least five years in a supervisory role, preferably in a higher ed setting. Experience driving an enterprise-wide data strategy; proven competence in developing and implementing management information tools, data mining, and data modeling that produce actionable findings; experience building and refining complex, system-wide processes; participation in a major system conversion or equivalent experience; ability to lead and exercise sound judgment; excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building and maintaining internal and external relationships; a desire to innovate. The successful candidate will value the role of teamwork in a fast-paced, challenging position and be able to implement high standards of customer service for internal and external constituents.Preferred Qualifications:Advanced degree; proficiency with Salesforce/Affiniquest; experience managing a team comprised of diverse roles and functions.
