The Operations Manager will oversee teams in the planning, producing, and packaging of quality registers, grilles, and diffusers, ensuring strict adherence to work orders, company policies, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the on-time delivery of high-quality products. They will manage four supervisors, over 80 hourly employees, and the production planning department. This role emphasizes a people-first approach, championing employee engagement, development, and collaboration while driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate thrives in a structured, KPI-driven environment, excels in fostering a supportive, inclusive workplace, and is dedicated to their team's growth and the achievement of organizational performance metrics.This full-time salaried position requires an on-site presence at our Cle Elum Facility Monday through Friday during standard business hours (6 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and availability by phone during off-shift production hours.Key Responsibilities:People Leadership & Empowerment:
Lead and support a positive, growth-focused team culture, encouraging open communication and empowering team members to contribute to decisions on production, safety, and quality.Communication & Reporting:
Regularly gather, analyze, and interpret performance metrics, providing clear and insightful reports to senior leadership. Effectively communicate challenges, improvement opportunities, and critical insights while being prepared to answer questions and offer solutions, ensuring transparency and proactive management.Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement:
Drive efficient operations and plant performance by executing strategies, identifying improvements, and integrating Lean/5S principles to foster innovation.Operational Leadership:
Focus on cost reduction, quality improvement, and production enhancements by setting and managing short- and long-term operational goals that drive efficiency and support employee success.Safety & Compliance:
Champion a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, collaborating with the Safety Supervisor, and encouraging a culture of safety.Training & Collaboration:
Foster employee growth through targeted training while collaborating with the team to optimize plant performance and resource management.Education:
A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience is required.Work Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience managing or directly supervising a manufacturing operation.Preferred Requirements:Preference will be given to applicants who reside in Washington State. Relocation assistance may be available for an individual to relocate to Shoemaker in Cle Elum, WA.Familiarity with JD Edwards (Oracle) ERP system is a plus.Proven success in leading and motivating large, diverse teams in manufacturing or operations, consistently achieving or exceeding performance targets.Passionate about people leadership, with a demonstrated ability to enhance employee development, engagement, and well-being, driving measurable improvements in productivity and satisfaction.Strong problem-solving skills, focused on implementing employee-centered solutions that also improve operational efficiency and key performance metrics.Professional Skills:
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills; Proficient in MS Office suite for efficient project management, prioritization, and time management; Strong team leadership, driving results on time-sensitive goals and deliverables; Skilled in leading training sessions and providing personalized coaching for development; Effective in negotiation, conflict resolution, and fostering cross-department cooperation; Expertise in quality control, cost management, and optimizing production processes for registers, grilles, and diffusers; Proven leadership in managing a diverse team with a focus on results, engagement, and collaborative decision-making.The role is based in a manufacturing production environment, requiring attention to safety and adherence to PPE guidelines. Candidates must be comfortable balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on operational oversight.Compensation:Shoemaker Manufacturing / RectorSeal LLC has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The range for this salary position is:
