Simply put, we place an enormous value on our staff and we are not afraid to show it.About UsNestled on a beautiful, wooded campus in West Roxbury, Deutsches Altenheim is part of Legacy Lifecare - a non-profit, mission-driven organization which has been providing innovative care to the elderly and disabled in Massachusetts for over 100 years.Position Description:The Resident Care Director is responsible for managing, directing and developing a comprehensive care program for all residents of the community, which may include traditional Assisted Living residents, as well as those in our specialized Alzheimer's and Dementia care households. This position serves as a liaison with family members, community agencies and care providers. The Resident Care Director position will have an acute sense of responsibility and moral integrity with a sincere desire to work with elders. The Resident Care Director is responsible for identifying and developing programs to meet the psychosocial and other quality of life needs of the residents. The Resident Care Director is responsible for fostering an environment with routines that enable residents to maximize their individuality, independence and dignity. This climate shall provide each resident with the highest practical level of physical, mental and psychosocial well-being and quality of life.Duties:Responsible for management of wellness budgetDirects, plans, and coordinates services activities of professional nursing in resident careMonitor resident quality of care on a daily basis.On-call responsibilities, as scheduled, to assure that personal care staff have adequate backup.Establishes systems for care management, including assessments, care planning and discharge planning.Interprets policy and regulations to all nursing personnel and ensures compliance with all aspects of care, new admissions, staffing, training, policy and documentation.Qualifications:RN or LPN with current license to practice in the state of Massachusetts and two or more years of supervision/management preferredWill consider other licensed medical professionals with strong management experienceExperience working in Assisted Living facility is preferredAbility to maintain positive working relationships with residents, their families, peers and other staff membersPossess the ability to adjust to new or changing situations and stressesLeadership and supervisory ability, excellent communication skillsExcellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and develop and manage a budgetMust be able to read, write, speak and understand the English languageWhat Are We Looking For?The Resident Care Director must have skills in communication, assessment, program development and facilitation of specialized social programsRN or LPN with current license to practice in the state of Massachusetts and 2 or more years of supervision/management experience.He/she should have knowledge of and experience with developing and leading programs for persons with dementiaMust meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of the organization which include medical and physical examinationWill develop continuing educational programs/plans for all staff in assigned areasIs self-motivated, positive and demonstrates excellent communication and leadership skillsAbility to stand, sit, walk for prolonged periods of time on a frequent basisAbility to bend and squat for brief periods of time on an infrequent basisAbility to move intermittently throughout the facilityAbility to adjust to and cope with new or changing situations and the mental and emotional stresses of the positionAbility to push, pull objects and lift/carry up to 10 pounds unassisted on a frequent basis and up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis to set up for programsWhat Can We Do for You?Benefits:Health, Dental and Vision InsuranceBasic Life InsuranceVoluntary Insurance (Accident, LTD, STD, Whole Life Insurance)403(b) Retirement PlanTuition AssistanceShift DifferentialsFlexible Spending AccountPaid time off, vacation and sick timeTuition reimbursementInclusive company culture*Scale based on years of experience with "pay in lieu of benefits" option available.Deutsches Altenheim conducts extensive background checks and professional references are required for all potential employees.
