Associate - Corporate Controllers Accounting Operations and Reporting
This position is hybrid - Tuesday - Thursday in the New York Office and Monday and Friday work from home.Business Overview :Join Corporate Finance where expertise meets strategic impact. Become part of a team dedicated to financial stewardship, enabling business performance, and paving the way for a secure future for generations to come.Role Overview :The position will be a member of the Accounting and Controllership – Statutory Accounting and Reporting Division and will be actively involved in the statutory financial reporting for all Insurance Legal Entities (6 in total) focusing on state regulatory and NAIC financial reporting obligations.What You'll Do :Manage and oversee the company’s compliance over State regulatory requirements.Monitor and review all work performed by our co-source partner in connection with State Filing financial filings.Monitor regulatory communications to ensure proper delegation and compliance.Coordinate the payment of all invoices for license renewals, assessments, filing fees, and vendor expenses.Produce multiple NAIC required financial schedules/exhibits.Lead Business Continuity Planner and Records Management coordinator for the area.Coordinate and assist with the review of the annual proforma statutory proforma financial statements.Update and complete the statutory disclosure checklists for each company in connection with Audit requirements.Proactively identify opportunities to continuously improve processes.What You'll Bring :Bachelor's Degree with emphasis or concentration in Accounting.Strong financial statement analysis skills.Working knowledge of Statutory Accounting Principles (SSAP) a plus.Understanding of General Ledger systems (SAP a plus) and other accounting software a plus.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Workiva Wdesk.1 to 4 years in relative accounting experience.Pay TransparencySalary Range: $47,500-$80,000Discretionary bonus eligible: YesActual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
