GreenWay Waste & Recycling is seeking a driven and strategic Regional Director of Sales to lead our regional sales efforts, drive revenue growth, and expand our market share. The ideal candidate will provide strong leadership, guide the sales team, and implement innovative strategies that ensure continued growth and exceptional customer satisfaction within the multifamily industry. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Sales.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy Development: Craft and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve regional targets, expand market presence, and maximize revenue for GreenWay Waste & Recycling services.
Team Leadership: Inspire, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team. Provide ongoing coaching, development, and performance management to achieve and exceed individual and team goals.
KPI Management: Monitor key performance metrics including unit capture, contract cancellations, bulk collection, unit rate, and concession months. Proactively identify areas for improvement and take corrective actions to ensure sales growth and revenue targets are met.
Customer Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term retention. Act as a primary point of contact for escalated client issues and resolve complex challenges.
Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and opportunities for growth. Leverage insights to refine sales strategies and capture new business opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments including Operations, Marketing, and Finance to ensure alignment of sales strategies with company objectives and successful execution of initiatives.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Unit Capture: Lead the sales team to meet or exceed annual unit capture goals, ensuring sustained growth within the region.
Contract Cancellations: Maintain a contract cancellation rate below 2% annually by implementing effective retention strategies and strengthening customer relationships.
Bulk Collection Services: Increase bulk collection services on a quarterly basis by identifying untapped opportunities and leveraging existing client relationships.
Unit Rate: Consistently achieve and maintain a high unit rate annually through strategic negotiations and by optimizing pricing models to balance competitiveness and profitability.
Concession Months: Maintain a low annual average for concession months, ensuring effective cost management and client satisfaction.
Sales Team Management: Ensure that all team members meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets. Conduct regular performance evaluations, offering constructive feedback and support for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Industry Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of proven sales experience in the multifamily industry with a strong track record of success. Must have the ability to close multi-property deals and maintain high-level relationships.
Leadership Experience: Demonstrated success in leading and managing sales teams, with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and driving performance.
Industry Connections: Strong network within the multifamily sector and experience navigating industry-specific sales challenges.
Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel extensively for client meetings, presentations, and national industry events. Must be based near a major airport, ideally in the Midwest, to accommodate frequent travel.
