Your future starts here.The Rail Maintenance Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management and oversight of the rail flaw testing process, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the rail system. This includes planning, organizing, coordinating, and supervising all activities related to rail inspections, flaw detection, maintenance, and repair. The Rail Maintenance Manager is also accountable for the implementation and adherence to the Continuous Welded Rail (CWR) plan and related policies. In addition, the role involves significant collaboration with other teams within the Engineering Department to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met across all rail maintenance functions.Key Responsibilities:Planning and Scheduling:Develop and maintain an effective rail flaw testing schedule to ensure timely detection and remediation of rail defects.Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to minimize operational disruptions while conducting necessary inspections and repairs.Ensure that all testing and maintenance activities are aligned with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.Inspection, Testing, and Flaw Detection:Oversee the rail flaw testing process, including ultrasonic, visual, and other inspection methods to identify potential rail defects.Ensure all inspections and tests are conducted by trained personnel using appropriate and calibrated equipment.Review and analyze test results to determine necessary maintenance or repair actions.Maintenance and Repair Management:Manage and direct rail maintenance teams in the identification, prioritization, and execution of necessary repairs, replacements, and enhancements.Establish and enforce preventive maintenance schedules and strategies to ensure the longevity and safety of rail infrastructure.Provide oversight for emergency repair operations, ensuring minimal disruption to rail services.CWR Plan Oversight:Ensure compliance with the Continuous Welded Rail (CWR) plan and associated policies.Review and update the CWR plan as necessary to reflect changes in regulations, best practices, and operational needs.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the CWR program and make recommendations for improvement.Team Leadership and Collaboration:Supervise, train, and mentor maintenance teams, providing leadership to ensure high performance, safety, and adherence to industry standards.Collaborate with the Engineering Department management team to ensure alignment with broader departmental and organizational goals.Assist in the recruitment, development, and retention of qualified rail maintenance personnel.Safety and Compliance:Ensure that all rail flaw testing, maintenance, and repair activities are conducted in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company safety policies.Participate in safety audits, inspections, and reviews to identify and mitigate potential risks or hazards.Promote a culture of safety within the team, ensuring continuous awareness and adherence to safe work practices.Training and Development:Provide support for the training and development of rail maintenance staff, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.Stay informed of emerging technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices related to rail flaw testing and maintenance, and incorporate them into training programs.Reporting and Documentation:Maintain accurate records of all rail flaw testing, inspections, maintenance, and repair activities.Prepare detailed reports on testing outcomes, maintenance progress, and any incidents or issues that arise.Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of rail infrastructure and any potential risks or concerns.Additional Statements:Drug and Alcohol Screening:
